12yo needed a new, slightly bigger, bike. Got one from a second hand bike shop. Old one works fine and is too good for scrapping, but isn't worth anything. So, a quick photo, up on Olio, and two days later another kid has a bike.
Meanwhile, a neighbour collected a stack of food "waste" from a local supermarket. Thanks to Olio, we've had pastries with our afternoon cup of tea and have bananas to go under custard later.

Letzte Woche habe ich mir ein "neues" #secondhand#thinkpad#t580 gekauft. Bin sehr zufrieden (Zustand und Preis top) und hat sogar ein WWAN Modul.
Jetzt noch eine grössere 2TB SSD reinmachen und evtl. Etwas mehr RAM (wobei, für Linux auch 16GB ganz okay sind).
In our Sunday animations in the #culturalHeritage centre, I finished my #visibleMending project: a #secondHand jacket with a completely scuffed collar. For a better look I fixed 2 more patches. All people were very curious. Then the reactions:

I’m upgrading my garage ethernet network so maybe some down time on the solarcene.community #solarinstance. Pleased with myself as instead of jumping to am&zon I went on #eBay and got a 8 port network switch #secondhand . It was missing the power adapter which is fine as I’ll be rigging it anyway to run off 5V (it’s a TP SG108 and I’ve already got the 5 port version which works fine off 5V with a little modification).
Means I can finally put in place my plans to automate the #mastodon instance

As I'm of doing it myself in a small way, I'm not surprised that the market for #secondhand goods is booming;
with sales platforms ever easier use, in the midst of a #costofliving crisis so many of us are up in the attic looking for things we don't need to gain a bit of extra cash;
the great clear out is unlikely to stop soon; not least as for their new owners second-hand is a cheaper option for things that you need....
Was hoping to get three books today... Scared Silent (the dc snipers wife), Pay No Heed to the Rockets, and The Drone Eats With Me but instead received two copies of Why the Allies Won by Richard Overy and Inferno by Max Hastings. Two! Why😫

Mir geht's eher drum dass die Dinge wo unterkommen, wo sie auch genutzt werden und der Preis am Ende fair ist für beide.
It's been a frustrating day. We've driven around several towns trying to give a few very good quality items to #charity. Most of them weren't interested in taking any donations (because it was too much effort for them to get off their fat arses and do something). The one that did want to take items showed no appreciation and instead tried to berate me for daring to donate something after 14:30 (it was 14:50). Never again. No wonder people don't bother and just chuck everything in landfill.
@druid I work in a charity shop. We are understaffed AND overwhelmed with donations. We ask - politely - that donors “ring before they bring” and limit their donation size. I know it’s an extra hassle for them, but it’s the only way we can cope. We are grateful for your time. There really is too much stuff in this part of the world. #secondhand#circulareconomy#thrifty
Today is the last day of the Dutch Children's Book Week. Every year you can get a free children's book if you spend a certain amount of money on children's books during that week. A while ago I found this Children's Book Week book from 1986 at the thrift store and I figured now was a good time to read it. It's a mixed-media mystery that makes me wish the Book Week gifts wouldn't have such a strict format these days and I can definitely imagine that it could make children excited about reading.
