@stfn ah thanks. Read a little bit about. I had no glue about radio frequencies yesterday.. 😅. I see that for the EU there are two options available 433 and 868.. can I ask you why you choose 433?

@stfn I came across some similar info, where they said that 433 has a longer range. 868 more stable. But I guess on the country side long unobstructed distances are more common. Kind of makes sense. Cool.

@z428 @can I really want to avoid multiple accounts for that reason. Maybe I need to come up with some personalized hashtags, so people have the option to filter. But then again: I might forget about those hashtags in certain situations.

@can @z428 True. and I try to to do that.. There was a time a few month back where I was trying out different clients. And some of them were buggy in this area and did not populate the language correctly. and I only recognized it weeks later.. after some complains. But this should be fixed by now, because I switched back to my old client I used before.

@ceha Totally get that. But I also have to say that I sometimes enjoy accounts more, if they represent a human with all their facets, not only one topic. For me multiple accounts would mean that I only use one while the the other accounts collect dust. I think the social aspect could get lost. At the moment I dont want the extra effort of curating multiple accounts. might try it out another time.
Dont get me wrong, it is totally valid to do so and its good that it works for you.

I moved already twice, so the permanent browsable diary is already gone.. haha. Same with several thousand posts on twitter. I feel more and more that a simple blog would be better for this.

I really dont get pixelfed. Whats the advantage to post an image (without text) on mastodon?

Maybe its not at the point where the fediverse can be used with one account to take part on all platforms. or maybe its not even meant to be.

As of now I see most platforms as an access point to the fediverse. Each access point has a different approach to how the content is shown to you.

I also follow a few lemmy communites from my mastodon account. Only the char limit on mastodon site is kind of silly when thinking about federated social media platforms. How to interact properly with people who are having almost unlimited characters.
