Sometimes Pete is grumpy if I get up late. He starts jiggling his food bowl up and down and it falls to the bottom of his cage. When I let him out, he goes salvaging the spilt food. Took the wilted canes from last night's ginger harvest, wove them into the bird's cages. They can dry there and become nutritious shred toys. Put a pinch of chickweed near each to entice them to explore (they LOVE chickweed, just like chickens). Now the room is ginger grass scented :). Bonus shot of Sunny eyeing the new green stuff with cautious curiosity.

I gave Pete an apple slice for a snacc when I got home from work and accidentally left the bin open. He ended up IN the bin, eating something. He was quite happy in there until he decided he wanted out and couldn’t.
