Benben now supports the OPL3. It's still a bit buggy, which is why the one ride cymbal sounds wrong, but it's already pretty close ^_^ I'll work out the bugs this weekend.
Of course I had to do #doom e1m1 as an example :-P
Apologies in advance for the compression artifacts caused by uploading ^_^; There's a better sounding video in the comments.
It's time for the third ever #MoodMusicMonday! Today's mood is "weird"!
Post whatever song comes to your mind that fits the mood (or makes you feel the mood)! Make sure to use the tag and mention the mood so everybody knows. :3
Oh since I'm on a video game music kick, do people know that there's a classical composer on YouTube who is making orchestral versions of the Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis soundtrack? It's still on-going (he just got to Atlantis itself because he had to cover all the music from the different paths) and they're AMAZING.
That's by far my favourite (it might be my favourite game track of all time, that's how much I love it), but it's probably good that that's out of the way. I think I'll pick 3 this time b/c I like fighting games too much, & I want to also introduce people to at least 1 they've likely never heard:
And here's a track from my favourite fighting game of all time, Capcom vs SNK 2, "This is True Love Makin'". Music is really important to me in video games, so it's not surprising that my favourite fighting games all have great music (imo anyways). I'm also extremely good at this game >_>
And because I'm a huge King of Fighters fan and Kyo is my best/favourite character, this is "Esaka?" which is his/team Japan's theme which has been remixed several times, but my favourite is the iconic one from KoF 1996 that established the main parts of the song that would be redone over and over afterwards... also it just sounds great... I can bop out to it forever
:zerotwo_wow: Here's a second video in the span of 3 days! This time, it's the Gen 1 opening from the Pokemon game series which is short, sweet, energetic, and bloody fun to play :charmander_yay:
I've added an extra touch or two in the video editing phase this time and I'd be curious to hear how people like or dislike them (along with, as always, any input about the audio). It feels like I'm learning just a few little things about editing with each video I put out, and I'm hoping that I can stick with it and get steady progress (unlike the first years of my channel, I'm using the same software (DaVinci Resolve) for a bunch of videos in a row so I can actually build some skills :blobfox_laugh_sweat:
As always, boosting helps a ton, and if you like my music, please consider donating :leafeon_money: so that I can take care of my violin (and my body, but the violin comes first :leafeon_giggle: )
While I'm working on getting the next performance video ready, I figured it might be nice to get some of my old posts that I liked posted back up, so here's the first in my Gushing About The Octopath Traveler OST series:
[Pt. 1] Main Theme
Octopath Traveler is, simply put, the soundtrack we thought we heard in the pixel art era: Melody-driven pieces, mimicking pieces of that era by having, at most, 3 or 4 distinct musical lines playing at once, played by an orchestra. This creates tight tracks that are memorable and individually distinct. For starters, here’s the main theme.
