I appreciate the effort that they actually populated the 3d background with this scratching white kitty when most of their scenes are set in static backgrounds. Production values of newer 3D anime has improved a lot since it was first used.

It's very strange how this anime season has one gay and 4 music lesbian series, and yet Japan still hasn't legalized same-sex marriages.

Alright, now that I've settled down after my trip (and got sidetracked binging The Quintessential Quintuplets), it's time to recount it! :ChikaYay:

Day 1, we have an early flight but I managed to sleep a little earlier and wake up on time. Smooth trip through the automated customs for once (it has never worked properly for me all my life).

It started to rain, so we were a bit concerned about delays, but the flight went ahead as scheduled. There was a LOT of turbulence in the beginning though. We later found out in Japan that the rain got so heavy that there were flash floods later in the morning :neocat_googly_shocked:

I've been wondering for a while now... What's with young Chinese guys wearing Chicago Bulls basketball attire?

It's a thing that I randomly spot. The Bulls haven't been relevant for quite some years now. Is it that they're wearing comfortable clothing from that era? That basketball pop-culture in China is still stuck there and that these clothes are still being mass produced?

I wouldn't be surprised if people wore Slam Dunk or Kuroko's Basketball cosplay, but the Chicago Bulls..? I know that Chinese tourists still like to take the iconic photo at the railway junction near Kamakurakoukoumae station but I've seen these dudes all over the place.

So I just got back from Bali 🌴 ... and the first thing I see when I get home is my mom attempting to feed mommy cat using a spare floor tile we had in the storeroom :neocat_confused:

Context: I've been trying to find the perfect surface to feed the cats because they sometimes ignore food if they can't pick it up within a few licks. So I've been experimenting with different feeding surfaces.

My mom's logic was that since the cats like to pick up wet food and drop it on the floor before eating, why not serve food on a piece of tile instead?

As you can see, it didn't work... :neocat_facepalm:

How's Threads been working for you recently?

For me, it literally loads 2 posts, and then scrolling loads 2 more posts, since an update a while back. Completely unusable, tho it was barely usable for me before :meowcrying:

Another new Xitter clone by an ex-Xitter exec, Maven, is basically using OpenAI to categorize posts, and using algorithms to generate a feed based on selected topics. So no 'following', just 100% topics based on algo...

In theory it's good, but it'll eventually just feed you mostly ads, because that's the only way to profit off social media. No following means all conversations would be topical instead of community, which is kinda like Deaddit.
