Working on sound design for The Love Talker today, and I got a new instrument from Pianobook: "Poseidon's Pull." It's this amazing sample of the ocean, the creaking of ship's ropes, more. I added a little pad and some spoken words which are from Laurie Anderson by way of Shakespeare, The Book of Job, and Herman Melville.
Think of it as a teaser for a non-existent audio drama.
I'm thinking of creating a script that will control the list of typical ambience sounds - the idea is to turn them off completely when music is playing. If the player lowers the volume of the music to a certain value, then the general ambiences begin to play. Because there is no point in turning them on with music, they are inaudible anyway
⚠️Important info about the lead synth in Europe - The final countdown 🎹
The sound of the keyboard riff used in the recording was achieved by using a Yamaha TX-816 rack unit and a Roland JX-8P synthesizer, as described by Michaeli: "I made a brassy sound from the JX-8P and used a factory sound from the Yamaha, and just layered them together."
@cou@iotar@synths and finally, LFO and envelope changes. Main change is env1 key to off. Env1 sustain is on the long side, probably not needed once the JX is plugged into a Hall Reverb (another key component for the sound). Here, a Zoom Multistomp MS-70CDR with HD Reverb.
I am engaged in sound design... process each sector of the game, adding new sounds, events and reverberation zones. Here is an example - the hold of a ship
Is it just me or Plugin Alliance is starting to look like Waves? I keep getting daily emails pressuring me to check out their $29.99 deals that's ONLY FOR TODAY, when the day after there's another one.
I love many of their plugs, as well as several brands that are part of the Alliance, however this doesn't bode well, especially if coupled with their recent buyout from Native Instruments.
Where do people buy their audio plugins these days?
Unity why can't the volume control feature be made for humans?
For example, I want to lower the volume by 0, this should be set to a value -80f on AudioMixer. Ok.
But when I want to do it smoothly, for example, smoothly reduce the volume of the music, then in the second half of the value scale, no sound is heard. So instead of 2 seconds, I have to do 7 seconds of fading
My need for sound effects is ever rising and insatiable. Each new sound I add just makes me realize all the gaps in sound design. Next project I definitely gotta find and wear a music/sound hat earlier.

@Damone1799 Welcome to Mastodon. If you're struggling, check out my pinned thread. It should help answer some things. And don't forget to write a #Introduction post! That is, using the introduction hashtag. Tag your interests with hashtags so likeminded folks can follow you. Like this. Some of my interests are #StarTrek, #Podcasting, #Writing and #SoundDesign
Hope this helps!
Bernie Krause of "Beaver and Krause" responsible for the Nonesuch Guide to Electronic Music (1968), set up a #Moog booth at #MontereyPop worked with everyone, released a ton of stuff. I have a bunch of these records. I had no idea the Nonesuch collection spent 26 weeks on the classical charts. I believe he lost all of his master tapes in one of those massive Cal fires a few years back. #ElectronicMusicHistory#Synthesizers#BernieKrause#SoundDesign https://youtu.be/dWWc1L4Nr5g
relistening to this one - we're surrounded by so much functional sound design it's relaxing to get into something using the same techniques impressionistically
It was so funny to record myself doing this. We sound designers live strange lives.😂I came up with the story of his train has been canceled and he's in a terrible state of "woe is me" and I feel like he would end up being that NPC that you'd die for😆 #sfx#sounddesign#gameaudio
William Johnson is a sound designer, producer, and percussionist. He works on records and film scores.
He’s quite inventive overall. But this particular use of super balls on drums/cymbals is unreal. The sounds he makes here are unearthly and eerie to the bone.
It's not often you hear loud thunder claps without rain or other elements. Nice to get these even if on a handheld recorder and not my proper #sounddevices kit. #sound#sounddesign#film#norfolk#uk
Demo of the sound management system in Erra: Exordium and Unity Audio Profiler module
Depending on the type of sound, the system searches for a free audio source in stacks and stops it after playing. If necessary, the stacks can be expanded
