I am attempting to de-#Google my digital life (as much as is possible at the moment). I got myself an #Android#MobilePhone that does not have Google services installed on it, and I am using #FDroid, #AuroraStore, #APKPure, etc. to get the apps, and using the #AppBrain#AdDetector and #DuckDuckGo's #App#Tracking#Protection (#Beta built into their mobile browser).

I am doing my best to use #minimal apps, and only getting ones that are not security focused when necessary. I am not logging into Google, or any other #BigSocial/ #BigData services except when necessary.

My question is, are there any #SMS / #Texting apps that allow you to login on the #Web and #sync messages to your phone (even if only on the same network), and a #keyboard that has #VoiceToText that does not use Google or #Microsoft? I am currently using #SwiftKey, but only until I figure out the #T9 app I am using with the KB (HYBRID phone running Android 11).

I am currently using the #Silence#App#SilenceApp, with #OpenBoard (De-Googled keyboard), but it doesn't have web/PC access, and #Signal with those people that use it, even though I hate the fact it's linked to your number, and not an ID (such as #Threema/#ThreemaLibre) or nothing...

It's a winter image, I know, but it's a favorite of mine. I think because it speaks silence so well, that silence that you experience when it's snowing, a lovely silent silence. You can hear the snowflakes as they hit the ground. I am glad it's Spring, but just spoke to me. Sometimes, I think it's what we need...
I'm not one for "New Year's resolutions", but I am one for overly ambitious projects.
For 2023, Project365 is "One New Game Per Day".
Given that I have 634 unplayed games in my Steam account and {mumble} unredeemed bundle Steam keys, there's a reason my unplayed collection is tagged "Pile of Shame".
I'll pin this to my profile, and give a brief summary here each day (or x, if I miss x days due to work or stuff).
I'll play 15-30 minutes of (at least) one new game I've never played before (or played less than 15 minutes of). I'll give every game at least 15 minutes, even if I hate every minute of it.
I'm also open to suggestions; if you reply to this thread with a game, I'll schedule it, or tell you what I thought of it.
One of the things that's come up is that I have a bunch of games that I've played once, and not touched again.

The process of going into a game with no idea what it's going to be can lead to some terrible experiences, or some wonderful ones.
Silence is both. This is an excellent game (no waiting until the end of the review).
It opens on a stunningly rendered tableau of children in the early evening in a snowy village, building a snowman.
It then proceeded to break my heart with the intro. I'm not going to spoil it, but it was unexpectedly heart-rending. The only game that's affected me more than this recently was Stray, and I still haven't been able to bring myself back and continue beyond the intro level with that little cat.
Silence is a point-and-click adventure, that's unlike any I've played previously. The art is slightly surreal, and utterly gorgeous, and I will definitely go back to play more.
