I'm looking forward to FlaskCon inside PyCon this year, but it needs talk proposals from the community to be successful. If you work with Flask or our other libraries, or alongside other web technologies, you have something to share and we want to hear it! Please submit a 5-15 minute talk proposal: https://flaskcon.com/2024/#PyCon#PyConUS#Flask
If you're hoping to go to #PyCon#PyConUS2024#PyConUS#PyCon2024@pycon & you could use some financial help to attend, please do consider applying for a travel grant. I've done it in the past, it's been incredibly helpful, and the process is as easy as I think it could be.
"Travel grant recipients receive support for some or all of their expenses, including transportation, lodging, and childcare, and complimentary registration."
Are you coming to #PyCon US this week in Pittsburgh? I am!
I put together a helpful custom #map 📍 with the recommended local places from the PyCon US website to help me navigate - hope it helps you too in some way.
#PyCon attendees who are flying into #Pittsburgh have a $2.75 option for getting from the #PIT airport to the convention center: the #28X#bus.
The ticket machine and door to the 28X are just past baggage claim L, on the left side. You can pay cash, buy a reloadable card, or buy a daily/weekly bus pass.
🚨 🚨 🚨 We're approaching the Final Call for Proposals for #PyOhio 2024!!! 🚨 🚨 🚨
This Sunday, Anywhere on Earth (AoE) Will be your last chance to submit a talk for our awesome conference!
If you had fun at #PyCon and want to keep hanging out with the #Python Community, or have something you want to share with the rest of us, please submit a talk! We love first time speakers!
At #PyConUS2023, @davidism facilitated an open space discussion of "maintainer #burnout, how to survive it, and maybe how to prevent it." Our notes, my analysis, and useful links in a new blog post:
"But other parsers know too much about HTML. They choke on or try to rewrite bad markup. They assume you care about the whole document. A pirate might make you walk the plank, but only a parser would make you walk the whole tree."
Happy 20th birthday to the #Python screen-scraping library Beautiful Soup by @leonardr .
Hey folks, one last entreaty before the #PyConUS hashtag trails off.
We could really use your financial support. Our non-profit #ScholarshipFund is the travel sponsor for #PyCon US 2024.
We've recouped only 4% of what we gave. We're here to serve & happy to do it but could really use some boosts across the fediverse to drive donors so we can do it again.
Pls donate to help more people experience #Pittsburgh through tech conference travel:
I attended my first Python conference 10 years and 10 days ago.
I wrote a meandering and nostalgic blog post (complete with links to old group selfie tweets) about the last 10 years of being part of the wider #Python community.
I'm really grateful I decided to attend PyCon 2014 and that I came back for PyCon 2015 and went to DjangoCon 2015 as well.
I won't be attending #PyConUS but since I'm seeing people share tips for attending the conference, I wanna share my thoughts on how attendants can make conferences a better experience for everyone.
Hey #PyConUs! Looking to take a break from the con with a little light reading? Stop by the #TurnTheTables booth to learn about your rights as a tech worker and how to organize!
Many thanks to @mariatta, @lorenipsum, the rest of the @pycon organizing team and @ThePSF staff, and everyone else who made PyCon US in Pittsburgh possible and awesome. See you again in 2025!
