Flashback Nov 8, 2010. Somehow starting the age of smartphone photos, taken with the infamous Palm Pre. Late at night. Returning home from a bar with close friends. Rather poor quality in a picture that somehow feels important. Originally on Facebook which also felt important back then...
"#Palm#Harbor#Village" in - yes, #Medford, #Oregon - is one of the latter. Zero palms, no harbor, and the village is just a patch of mobile homes adjoining a busy freeway.
Though an all time fave is #Eagle Court if you know that it was renamed from Gay Court.
The #Palm Zire 71 is really hard to repair! There is a very small plastic switch to activate the camera. Be careful not to destroy it.
So changing the battery is very hard. Also don’t destroy the brittle connection for syncing an charging #pda
@foone There were also some weirdo SD cards with WLAN for some PDAs like the #Palm series back in the early 2000s. And I think I saw a SD card with integrated camera for some HP PDA at some time. Crazy times!
We love nature, even one located under a glass roof. This is a huge strelitzia (our favorite houseplant), commonly known as the Bird of Paradise Plant. I took this photo in Amsterdam, at one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world called Hortus Botanicus, which was founded in 1638. 🪴🪴🪴
I was able to beam a memo from one Palm to the other... Probably the first time I've ever done that! (Because 25 years ago I didn't know anyone else with a Palm who I had met in person.)
I don't know that I can connect these to a computer since I don't have sync cables, and... would they even work on a modern computer?
