"Most of the belongings, such as clothing, makeup and blankets, could be replaced in time. But she panicked when she realized that her dentures, acquired after months of dental appointments, were also gone."

For ProPublica, Nicole Santa Cruz reports on how the city of #Albuquerque is discarding the personal property of thousands of #unhoused people: https://www.propublica.org/article/albuquerque-homeless-encampments

El Malpais National Monument | The jagged, desolate landscape is a volcanologist’s playground. A million years of volcanic activity sculpted the landscape. Numerous volcanoes and lava flows generated the field. The most recent volcanic activity was about 800 years ago.

“I'm thrilled to be working in New Mexico again,
Story-wise, this new show could have been set anywhere in the United States. However, I keep returning to the Land of Enchantment for the beautifully cinematic landscape and to continue working with the best crew ever. They've been making me look good for seventeen years now, and I figure, ‘why fix it if it ain't broke?’”

#NewMexico government, legislature, and governor: completely owned and controlled by the oil and gas industry. Always have been, always will be.

Hypx: hydrogen is not the future of the transportation industry. It’s just a desperate lie of the increasingly obsolete oil and gas industry.

Given that Trump has made it clear he wants Big Oil to finance him as ends democracy and anything we've ever done to fight climate change, this is a good time to say:

I'm looking for one person tonight to help me flip both statehouses in Arizona, the smartest political donation you can make in 2024.

@lolgop I happily donated, just now. I agree with you about the importance of #Arizona to the country as a whole. And, now that I live in #NewMexico, I have a more personal reason to want to see the Arizona legislature flipped blue. I’d love for Arizona to join New Mexico as a hub of democracy and progressivism in the U.S. southwest. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to join in.

Tribes have long been among the staunchest advocates of wildlife crossings. But grant funding stipulations, as well as some state agencies like the Dept. of Transportation, can work against them.

Nevertheless, tribes like the Stillaguamish, the Upper Skagit, the Santa Ana Pueblo, the Burns Paiute, and the Salish and Kootenai are taking the lead on connecting habitat and reducing the harms of American highways and interstates.

If you need a break from terrible news, check out this interview I did with Nizhonniya Austin, aka Cara from 'The Curse,' one of the most interesting characters in one of TV's most interesting shows, a contemporary Native artist who's morally complicated, and according to Austin, not particularly likeable.

Austin is a real life contemporary Native artist, and she told me about how some artists use identity to advance their careers.
