For #MountainMonday I have another photo of this great storm I photographed last month over the mountains north of Burnaby, British Columbia.

I wrote a full blog post about it all here: https://www.mrussellphotography.com/blog/rainstorm-eagle-mountain/

Ticked off one from the bucket list yesterday: Gleirsch canyon, carved out by one of the earliest tributaries of the Isar river, both with an incredibly beautiful turquoise water color. The canyon itself is one of the wildest & Tolkienesque I've ever been too, higher up parts then offering amazing views of the epic Karwendel main range... ❤️

For : A spring rainstorm flows from the clouds to the mountains in British Columbia, Canada. Eagle Mountain and the Buntzen Lake area appear to be receiving the brunt of the rainfall while the sun breaks through the clouds to the west.

This week for I have the iconic scene of Mount Shuksan and Picture Lake in Washington State. One of the most photographed mountains in the area, and you can see why.

For #MountainMonday. I thought I'd post this now before the onslaught of real eclipse photos, fake eclipse photos, and AI eclipse photos. This is Mount Baker (Komo Kulshan) in Washington State with a rather nice bit of sunset light on the clouds behind.

The silence felt in the Canadian Rockies gives you the impression these mountains feel your presence. You be witness in their observation, as you pass through their space. A place where time formed long before you and will remain long after you. With feelings so strong, it stays with you even after you've left. The Icefields Parkway can do this for those who pass through.

Took some people for their first ever snowshoeing experience today after some good snow came in yesterday.

Good sunshine on the morning with some great views back from the easy track that leads up to the mountain hut at Sorteny. We had a hot drink and returned the same way. The sun started to melt the more exposed areas on the return.

For - The moon rises over Mount Blanshard from Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada.

I wasn't planning this, but apparently others were (back in 2008) as I recall photographers in small groups along the side of the road waiting for the moon to rise. I had no idea what that might be about until it came up over the mountain.

For #MountainMonday here is colorful Mount Perry, a peak in the northern Black Mountains of Death Valley National Park.

The hike to Mount Perry's summit starts at Dante's View and is pretty much "uphill both ways", with a distance of 8.5 miles. From Dante's View one first loses about 800 feet in elevation — and then has to gain it back. And the same on the way back out of course. 🤪

My descent down the mountain earlier this month began with this beautiful view, but also a steep section of trail— about 45 deg slope— the most challenging of the hike. The #snow was heavy and unconsolidated; my snowshoes could not get traction and wanted to turn into skis! I got down safely by stomping the snow and going down “stair step” style, sideways. Fun! #MountainMonday #snowshoeing #mountains #hiking #backpacking #nature #NaturePhotography #landscape #photography #LandscapePhotography

The fourth consecutive photo from my camp at Marble Canyon, this time looking NE—Lee's Ferry is just behind the leftmost ridge. I used 70mm to isolate the peak.

Final approach to the summit in last week’s hike in the White , NH. The became a bit tricky at this point as the route (no longer resembling a “trail”) was above the tree line and alternated between patches of ice/snow and bare rock slab. Very exciting to reach this point after having hiked/snowshoed up 3,000’ of elevation gain. 😀
