But what do those who use #Autodesk applications do with their files when they stop renewing their subscription?
Do they save in other formats such as USD ABC or how else can they access their files? #Maya#3dsMax
Ooo, this is a fun one. I just got asked to go on my local CBC radio lunchtime show on Feb 29 to talk about the astrophysical reasons why Feb 29 exists. I'll definitely also have to talk about the Catholic church's role in the calendar we use, and how 10 days got removed from the calendar (at different times in different places!) to switch from the Julian to Gregorian calendars. This is going to be very fun!
[edited because I had Julian and Gregorian names swapped oops]
Wrapped up #Maya on #DisneyPlus this week. Much better than I anticipated it would be. That last episode was genuinely touching and it got a little dusty in the room.
So now I just cracked the seal on #ForAllMankind on #appletvplus. I remember the broad strokes but not a lot of the details from Seasons 1-3. It would be good to find a more detailed recap. But S4 starts out with all of the fantastic qualities that make this show a strong recommendation.
(Click for panorama, I think that's how it works).
This is a stunning 'Puuc' style structure at Kabah. It's covered in 100s of 'masks' either depicting the Mayan rain god Chaac or the "Flower Mountain." There's some academic debate on that point. These are three film images stitched in Adobe Lightroom.
Extrem gelungen!
PH E-wallet Maya to start charging P5 for cash-ins of linked bank accounts on Feb. 26.
"Meanwhile, BPI recently announced that they will charge a Php10 fee for e-wallet reloading to GCash starting March 1, 2024. This rule will only apply to GCash, which means that this method can be an alternative to Maya users who want to transfer funds from their BPI for free."
Is this a sign that the Ayala Group silently sold off their shares with G-Xchange, Inc.?
Or, the conglomerate is starting to feel an impact because GCash decided to block phones with enabled:
Sideloading (which many brands and models have enabled by default, and no way to turn-off (like the Oppo model I have).
Dev options
They actually added another st*pidity, citing “security” again:
You can only use GCash on the device where the correct SIM card is loaded. /facepalm
Solution: Charge transfers from BPI to GCash so their first quarterly report will look pretty in the eyes of their non-techie board members and investors. To cover the decline in usage; and their silly “blame the users for security issues, not our system”.
Maybe it's because I've been using #Maya for almost 20 years and am blind to it's absurdities, but I'm watching a #Houdini tutorial on building USD Components in SOPs and KineFX and it all seems beyond absurd how complex it is to set up a simple robot arm with an IK control.
