US Dist Judge Steve C. Jones for the Northern Dist of #Georgia had heard separate requests from both fmr WH Chief of Staff Mark #Meadows & #Trump-era #DOJ crony #JeffreyClark for an emergency order that would stop them from having to report to #jail….
Jones #denied both, saying in both instances that it was premature for him to rule.
The decision is subtle in places and not as clearly written as it might be, but reasoning is sound, vindicating positions argued by #FaniWillis and skillfully grappling with complexities created by #RICO statute. My effort to illuminate, thread. 1/ #LawFedi
BREAKING: 11th Circuit rejects #MarkMeadows' request to reconsider whether his #Georgia election subversion charges can be moved to federal court. A three-judge panel on the circuit and a lower court ruled his case must stay in state court. #legal
Note that #JeffreyClark, like #MarkMeadows, is claiming he should not have to surrender for arrest in #FultonCounty. Clark is a disgrace to the legal profession. He has a real chance to be U.S. Attorney General if Trump is returned to the White House. Beyond sickening.
PS: This is a story about #publishing#ethics. The pub knew or should have known that Meadows lied in the book, and it planned to profit from those lies. Now it's saying it only wanted to publish sincere lies.
I thought I understood the true responsibilities of a White House chief of staff … I was wrong.
<<There used to be stiff competition for the title of history’s worst White House chief of staff…Mr. Nixon’s Haldeman served 18 months in prison for perjury, conspiracy and obstruction of justice in the Watergate scandal…
But the crimes Mr. #MarkMeadows is accused of are orders of magnitude greater than those of his predecessors.>>
Former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson says in her new memoir said that Mark Meadows burned so many documents in the waning days of the administration that his wife complained to her about the dry-cleaning bills to remove the “bonfire aroma” from his clothes, the New York Times reports.
"Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes confirmed this week that Mark Meadows — who served as chief of staff in former President Donald Trump's White House — has been officially served on nine felony charges related to her office's ongoing fake electors investigation."
If #MarkMeadows is now testifying the opposite of what he said in his book, doesn't that mean the publishers of his book can now sue him, since he just rendered it a valueless bunch of bullshit

MAJOR BREAKING: ABC News reports that Trump's chief of staff Mark Meadows was granted IMMUNITY by special counsel Jack Smith and has spoken with Smith's team at least 3 times this year, providing damning evidence against Trump.
"A three-judge panel on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a ruling by a district judge in September who said Meadows must fight the charges in state court because he did not demonstrate that his alleged conduct was related to his official duties in the Trump administration."
A fiery exchange between Rep. #RalphNorman (R-SC) and #CNN anchor #KaitlanCollins occurred on Wednesday over the intention and lack of contrition over sending a text message to then #Trump#ChiefOfStaff#MarkMeadows days before #Biden was set to be inaugurated as president to compel the president to bring in the U.S. troops to prevent the peaceful #TransferOfPower.
Fmr #Trump#WH aide #CassidyHutchinson, through her atty, responded Fri to a #HouseRepublicans' top #impeachment#witness, #TonyBobulinski, claiming in a letter 1st obtained by ABCNews that comments he made in his recent interview w/the #House Oversight Cmte were "defamatory," w/her atty providing a photo of an alleged encounter between Bobulinski & fmr WH chief of Staff #MarkMeadows that refutes Bobulinski's claims about the incident.
> The Republican electors who submitted votes falsely asserting that former President Trump won Arizona in 2020 have been indicted along with several Trump allies,
> Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Trump's former personal attorney Rudy Giuliani were among seven other unnamed defendants
#MarkMeadows didn’t semi-cooperate til he faced prison
Trump enablers ain’t sorry. Just sorry they got caught

She rode Trump’s coattails to power and fame until literally the last moment and even then she was more concerned about her own reputation than about the fate of our #republic
