This is a question about game streamers. Every year there are more and more streamers. My subjective opinion is that this only makes the video game market worse. Especially indie games.
⭐ Please write why you don't watch streamers and if you watch streamers, it is even more interesting - why, which ones? How old are you?
It is the beginning of a new tutorial series for more experienced developers looking to enhance their skills. We'll go trough all the steps to create a PROPER shmup on #pico8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSx2YHy9Gp8
⭐ What programming language do you use most of your life? Why exactly?
Most of my time I worked with almost the entire .Net stack, and in recent years it's Unity, so my language is C#
There were episodes in my life with mobile, many web stuff, java, c++, databases, etc.
Thanks to everyone for the enormous support. Many things went wrong during the development process, but at least I learnt a lot and managed to release a game :)
So, the betrayal with Unity is canceled... I can congratulate all the panickers and those who have already started studying other engines. Compromise seems to be the norm, and the logo made with unity can be off even with free use of the license.
If you ask 10 game dev friends to play your game's prototype/alpha, 5 Won't even download it, 3 of those who download it will boot it once and say "looks great, I'll try it this weekend" and never do. 2 will give you feedback, only 1 of those will give you useful feedback. Cheer up, It has nothing to do with how good your game is, it's just math.
Hey folks, does anyone maintain two separate profiles for "work" and "everything else / all the things"?
I'm wondering if it's a good idea to try and maintain a handle that's more focused on apps and work stuff (e.g. @konstantin) rather than posting everything together here.
This is what Amazon Prime Video could have looked like on visionOS had they not restricted web playback on mobile Webkit.
Did all this work and then realized that Prime Video requires the Widevine plugin to be present which mobile safari does not support. Interestingly, Prime Video works on desktop Safari, and forcing the user agent on mobile Safari to be desktop Safari doesn’t work. ☹️
You may have heard that Nintendo patented a lot of silly things after the new Zelda release. One of those patents are moving platforms (For real), but if you go and see more detail... They are not patenting some kind of really performant algorithm, they patented MAKING THE PLAYER A CHILD OF THE PLATFORM.
Today I'm going to hit the button in Steam that will take the game from early access to release. But I do not feel a small victory. I gave the project 5 years of my life, but now I feel nothing. Maybe I'm psychologically devastated and emotions appear later
UI/UX from scratch is hard. 😕 Sometimes I wish I had some designer to talk to about stuff I develop for Questlog.
One thing that annoys me extremely: I just don't get into mobile first for it. This is weird because I myself use it exclusively on mobile and most users seem to use it mobile only. 😅
I will finally get there but working alone on something as full stack in frontend, backend, UI and UX is sometimes pretty hard.
