NEW - Premier Ford rules out allowing the building of fourplexes despite his own housing task force recommending it. #DougFord says his government will only focus on building single-dwelling & town homes.
“You go in the middle of communities & start putting up four storey, six storey housing ..there’s going to be a lot of shouting and screaming”
Yup, that's “off the table for us” because there would be push back from residents.
PSA: Caltrans just advised this afternoon that the 101 northbound exit to Highway 23 will be closed from 8 pm TONIGHT through 6 am tomorrow morning for asphalt dike repair work. There will be a marked detour via Rancho Road.
"Almost every California community has a state highway that doubles as a local street. These are often the most dangerous roads, because the California Department: of Transportation / Caltrans has historically prioritized moving cars quickly over the safety of people #biking and #walking.
"The highway would bring extreme noise and pollution to the city. Honestly this is going to harm everybody. It's a nonsense project no matter how you look at it."
Antiabortion advocates are targeting regions along interstates and in areas with airports, with the goal of blocking off the main arteries out of Texas and keeping #pregnant#women hemmed within the confines of their #antiabortion state.
These provisions have already passed in two counties and two cities, creating legal risk for those traveling on major #highways including Interstate 20 and Route 84, which head toward New Mexico, where abortion remains legal and new clinics have opened to accommodate Texas women.
Several more jurisdictions are expected to vote on the measure in the coming weeks

Public transport isn't supposed to make money. It's not even supposed to break even. It's supposed to lose money and to be financed and extended from general taxes because it gives back way more than mere money.
And all the politicians know this because they keep building and maintaining streets for free
@jay_peper In principle, gas taxes should fund road maintenance and construction. However, in the US "in 2011, highway user fees and user taxes made up just 50.4 percent of state and local expenses on roads."
