Well it’s #CymbalSaturday although I think not enough instances are federated with #drumstodon for many people to see our hashtags. Anyway I found a long-sought hard-to-find treasure, a Sabian Jack DeJohnette signature Encore 22” mini bell ride. How’s that for a mouthful? Basically its a thin light ride with a heavy patina coating, and tons of dense hand hammering, including on the shallow small bell. It sounds essentially halfway between a traditional and a flat ride. I love it! #drummer#drums

For almost 4 decades I have been obsessed with #drums. I air drummed all over everything. I spent a good 8 years playing the crap out of Rock Band's Pro/Expert drum mode and destroying at least 3 of those fake plastic toys. But it DID teach me some fundamentals...
Today, at 47 years old, I finally have the real thing. (Sure, they're digital drums, but you get my meaning.)

I have no idea who else needs this post, but can I recommend this lovely instrument making film from guys in #Barcelona. (English with that Spanish accent sounds great.) It's very well made, really good editing, clever shots & sound design, full of little surprises and personality. It's also exactly the kind of useless but fun knowledge that my brain loves to hoover up.
