It's coming together nicely. Some great performances. We're at the point now where I have a rehearsal just about every night until opening, despite all my other commitments, so please come and reward my perseverance!
Long time no post! Sorry I've been lazy.
Catching up with a short #hike to Te Tihi-o-Kahukura (Castle Rock), at the south of #Ōtautahi#Christchurch. Nice views on the city from over there and on Diamond Bay from Te Moenga-o-Wheke on the other side.
His of Magpies in the way, luckily not as aggressive as I've been told. Went down with Humpty Dumpty Track, pretty hard to follow but I made it after many hesitations.
So cool to just bike home after the hike! Nice to have such spots near the city. #Aotearoa#NZ
Here's Marley's Hill in the Port Hills of Ōtautahi-Christchurch, NZ, as seen from our house. The photo of it on fire is this morning, the other I took on Saturday.
I've been taking photos of this view every fortnight from our deck, watching how the hill has been recovering from the 2017 Port Hills fire. The clock has just been reset.
See Flickr for the full-res photos if you want to zoom in.

Following some recommendations, I drove to Cass Bay this afternoon, and wow I loved it! Pine trees, azure water, small rocky beaches... It somehow remembered me my dear Calanques. Maybe that is just me missing the Mediterranean sea, but driving along the bay really remembered me home.
Anyway, I love the place, and great for swimming as well! Just wondering why the water is so blur 🤔 #CassBay#Lyttelton#Ōtautahi#Christchurch#Beach#Sea#Aotearoa#NZ
I made it to #Ōtautahi#Christchurch ! This is my new home now, and it's quite a big change. Bye bye mountains, hello #ocean and beaches like the huuuuuuge New Brighton #beach. You can barely see the end of it!
Ocean is so scary 😨 I don't know where I will swim my kilometre now 🏊♂️ #NewBrighton#Aotearoa#NZ
You can’t get more Dublin than this photo. The city seal, “Happy is the City where the People Obey” (along with the aforementioned City engulfed in flames), is on a lamppost. Christchurch Cathedral is in the background, and a moving Dublin Bus drives past, with the distinctive Christchurch covered bridge visible through the windshield.
I crouched down on Christchurch Place for a good ten minutes, waiting for just the right bus to pass at speed. My foot fell asleep, but I got the shot!

The Loft is a partnership of organisations at Eastgate in Ōtautahi providing a social emergency response service. Their funding was cut and they're at risk of closing. Yet they are in such high demand that they had no spare capacity this week due to a high case load.
Last weekend I was up before dawn for no reason, so took a trip to the beach to watch the sunrise. Clouds obscured the sun as it rose but soon gave some nice light for a few pics:

“I started growing hard-to-find #ChineseVegetables in 1950s Toronto and helped shape #Chinatown into what it is today”
When Wing Fung Chong came to #Toronto from #China as a young man, #Chinese produce was scarce. So he saved up, bought a #farm and started importing and cultivating fruits and vegetables to supply the city’s growing Chinese population
@ojala the issue here is Baxendale. Have a look at what she did to #Birmingham#Council before she came to #Christchurch. Staff cuts, strikes, loss of services and ultimately a council on the verge of Bankruptcy. I said this would happen when it was announced years ago.
Mauger said the council’s debt had risen to about $2 billion. “We are in shit creek financially, in my view - deep shtuck.”
