Oh shit, just learned there's a toy store that's got both new and vintage stuff like 3 miles from my house /and/ it's in the same shopping center as a gaming store that's got (among other stuff) Pokémon cards.

Reading a discussion thread about the pronunciation of the Mario enemy 'Lakitu' and numerous people keep mentioning 'how it's pronounced in Japanese' even though they're not called that in the Japanese versions of the games???

They're called ジュゲム (Jugemu, or Jugem, if you go by the romanization used in Super Mario Bros 3) in Japan.

Lakitu is the English name for the enemy and it's not even a real word to begin with.
