Anyone else not like when people dismiss immigrant cuisine as not being 'real'?

Like how in so many discussions of Chinese American cuisine, you get people chiming in with how it's not 'really' Chinese food.

It was created by Chinese immigrants and their descendants, how is it not a form of Chinese cuisine? It's not like China itself has just has one singular style of cuisine to begin with.

Don't like it, cats can be very loving. My mom's cat Salem loved me a lot, he'd always sleep on top of me or next to me whenever I visited during the summer.

He was very nice and my friend.

I'm honestly pretty fucking convinced that 'people online calling themselves autistic because they think autism is just being quirky' is not as big a problem as some of the complainers act like it is.

More reasons why I hate technology: my tablet wasn't charging at all for some reason, restart it and it says 1% (it was at 26% before I restarted it) and still wouldn't charge, restart it /again/ and now it's charging

Random question I just thought of: when it comes to home video game consoles, where do y'all draw the line in terms of considering a system retro or not?

For me, the line is 'was this console designed and intended to be hooked up to a CRT or not?'. If it was, then it's retro in my book. If wasn't, then it ain't retro.

(I'd make a poll but I can't really think of good options for one lol)

I really do feel that some #anime fans on the internet never outgrew that phase when you think that anime is some amazing superior thing to Western cartoons and not just...cartoons but from Japan.

Bonus points when they go on and on about how 'American cartoons are just crap for kids' and then they name some anime they watch and it's series that are aimed at kids in Japan.

Hey, by any chance, does anyone know why my 3DS (specifically a New 3DS XL) won't read my copy of Pokémon SoulSilver unless I literally press the cartridge into the cartridge slot and keep it held in there?

I was having the same problem with my copy of Pokémon White but that is working now on both my 3DS and my DS Lite, but SoulSilver is still 'have to keep it pressed in hard otherwise it won't read'

Thinking it might be the contacts but they don't look dirty?

I miss handheld gaming y'all.

I mean like I know that handhelds still exist, of course, but I mean like I miss when handheld gaming was like unique games /made/ for handhelds as opposed to just being the same games as on home consoles/PCs but on the go.
