i took this video in a seoul nightmarket years ago and it's been bugging me ever since... does anyone know why the dark vertical line appears on camera but not IRL? it happened on my friend's phone too.

    i love singapore a lot more than i expected! it feels very multicultural, has excellent public transit, and seemingly has a bouldering gym in every neighborhood.

    however last night a group of people asked to take a photo with me and my only rationale for this was "wow i must be the first person they've ever seen at Marina Bay Sands wearing 0 designer items"

    this is what trans healthcare in one of the most trans friendly cities in the world looks like, i waited four years, went through (so far) seven weeks of recovery, and then i get a pile of bills! do i need to pay them? do i ignore them? what are they for? who knows!

    @isis ugh yeah, i got a bill for $3k+ for a simple test and eventually negotiated it down to $140. these amounts seem totally arbitrary sometimes.

    Lots of NANOGrav folks are rightly making the news; I want to highlight Prof. Sarah Vigeland, who shies away from the limelight, but is the chair of the NG gravitational-wave Detection working group. It's meticulous scientists like Sarah who make sure the analysis is right!
