2.0 release alone is worth it, sunk another 40 hours in recently. Id say thats a fair value for my dollar, x years later.

Well for one, you can hold a deck, but I understand this is facetious. I’d argue most people who would get a switch over a deck “just want it to work”. Which is fair. Anyone with some tech skills though would understand a deck can be a switch with the right tools.

Kinda weird to be randomly knocking on doors, but to each their own. The country is also massive, just visit the nice states. Depending on where you live, youd be just as likely to be stabbed then shot at for knocking on a door.

I felt crazy for a second, but you both have it backwards. Running 2 batteries in series means doubling power, (12 v + 12v = 24v power) but same amp/hour as a single 12v. running the same 2 batteries in parallel means 12v of power, but double the amp/hr.

Someone doesnt know what fake QR codes are, or the huge privacy risk associated with scanning random things out in the world.

Zoot,
@Zoot@reddthat.com avatar

Pretty sure grandma wont have a phone to scan the QR code, so in reality itll be what ever money someone of your intelligence has.

Zoot,
@Zoot@reddthat.com avatar

Enjoy scanning random things from your ivory tower :). Maybe one day you’ll understand not everyone is as smart and privileged as you.

Zoot,
@Zoot@reddthat.com avatar

Well considering 3rd world country doesnt mean what you think, I’m absolutely sure it’s possible.

Zoot,
@Zoot@reddthat.com avatar

There was no question? But I’m glad your grandma has a phone. It must feel very good inside to have such privilege in this day and age! It’s really not that hard to understand not everyone can use a QR code. ADA laws exist for a reason. I’d totally understand if you’re just a 15 year old who’s trying to feel superior, but you’re being very ignorant to the less fortunate. Everyone would love to be able to experience all there is to life, and to gatekeep it behind a QR code is rather nonsensical.

You fail to see the point, and once again that’s okay. When technology outpaces you, you’ll come to understand what this conversation means. Take care, and try to make the world a better more accessible place if you have the capacity to do so :).

Zoot,
@Zoot@reddthat.com avatar

I am by no means a part of lemmy.world, if you bothered to look at my account I do not have my account based there. I also fail to see how it is relevant what so ever to our conversation? Every body gets old. New and wonderful things are constantly sprouting around us, nihilism will get you nowhere, and honestly will be a detriment to you as well… Especially as you get older and come to find yourself on the very end you’re fighting against: being able to understand how QR codes work, or what ever the newest and “greatest” invention may be.

Zoot,
@Zoot@reddthat.com avatar

You can absolutely hope and pray you’ll adjust, but not everyone is capable of doing so. Do you not remember, or are you not old enough to know how difficult it was to get grandma to use a texting app? All I’m trying to help you understand is that not everyone is capable of learning how to use these things. Whether it be age, disability, or any number of things.

Still very out of touch. I personally am doing okay, however anything I have is due to the sheer luck of knowing some one who knows someone. That is more or less the way of life is it not?

One thing your generation does not understand, is the sheer crushing depression that everyone I know has been dealing with. Yes every generation has had to face doomsayers, death, wars, things that can create just as much depression. However, at the end of the day, all they needed to do was work to get ahead. Now imagine all of that, continuing to work, and then listening to how their peers handled all the same issues but yet… my generation still cant own a single thing? Some of us are LUCKY to be afforded that oppurtunity, where a majority of us are just fucked.

I agree with you though, I dropped out of Highschool, had a kid at 17, got into a trade and I’m doing okay. Even then, I’m not alright. I am just being anecdotal of course, and comparing myself to others is not fair, and I wouldnt say America is absolute shit, but then again it really is. Hard to say otherwise when half the country is doing their absolute hardest to remove human rights, opportunities, and being so incredibly distant and toxic to anyone with a different mindset.

Would love to hear other issues on why you think the Steam Software is a mess? I’ve personally found it better in every way when compared to a PC, Laptop, or any other hardware, tho I’m hardly someone who uses it more than for streaming and gaming. Which has worked exceptionally well for being the forefront of handheld desktop gaming.

Zoot,
@Zoot@reddthat.com avatar

I know my TV has those issues unless I turn on Game Mode, (tv setting) and that’s a 72in tv so I’m sorry you have that issue… What are the syncing/offline issues? I’ve been able to go from wifi to nothing just fine, all games besides DRM games have all worked flawlessly as well without even enabling offline mode, so now I’m curious as to what issues are there.

To be honest, I just want to help, I’m not trying to call any one out, I just personally believe that Steam has done a tremendous job at creating SteamOS.

Sooo, which ones exactly did you read that had no credible threat? Because as others have stated, they have made clear threats in these articles. Do go off on how russia and the US both have made an assiniging amount of threats, it’s nice to find who the russian bots are.

So I was going to say that Fahrenheit has a better range of numbers to know when going from 68 is comfy to 70 is too warm, but 20c to 21c is basically exactly the same. Fuck your logic though, -50f is colder than -50c and that’s all I care about.

But posting to say so was worth your time…?

People sticking with audio jack phones, why is USB-C earphones not a solution?

Don’t get me wrong. Apple removing audio jack was the biggest facepalm in smartphone history. And you can thank it for not being able to make an upgrade without sacrificing audio jack (and SD card too :/). But USB-C is getting standardized everywhere now (laptops, smartphones, etc.). What makes USB-C earphones not worth the...

I’m still rocking my OG Note 8, granted this thing is a tank, I’ve never had to replace the port c charger. (But I also have an aux port) However! Any time i feel like m port is finally dying, it really just needs to be cleaned. Get a little toothpick an try cleaning before you ever replace, 9 times out of 10 it’s just got some gunk or something lodged in there.
