Today has been an unbelievably stressful day. Two things happened:
Someone, who lives abroad, called me up at 9AM to tell me they’re in Canada for one day and they need to meet up with me. So a serious chunk of my day was entertaining them and dealing with whatever thing came to their mind.
I found out that my strata council allegedly defrauded my complex of $100,000s, and I suddenly now have to pay thousands into the property’s contingency fund. Lawyers are now involved, and certain people fled the country.
It’s a good thing I take blood pressure medication.
I get a lot of people telling me, “I don’t care about games”.
Okay, but I do. And I’m going to talk about what I care about.
I have no interest in convincing you to care about the same things that I do. And I also don’t care about knowing how much you don’t care about things I care about.
So this little video is making the rounds in Chinese social media.
I'm calling it now: the Democrats have no hope in this election. They've alienated the demographic that they so desperately need the support of for calling them "anti-semitic" for...checks notes...opposing an open genocide.
The youth are not going to be voting Trump, but they're definitely not voting Biden either. Trump will win. Enjoy your next four years.

@zdl This is exactly what I see happening. The Dems have seriously underestimated this generation. This is what they get for forcing a candidate down the public's throat.
I am in a total state about the state of the world. This bloody Eurovision weekend- Israel getting full points in the popular vote from UK, Germany and many more, right whilst it is launching the worst yet on Rafah - is doing my head in. Reading this timeline - Netanyahu’s, Cameron’s awful statements- is doing my head in. Most of all, the awful suffering in #Gaza, and the majority of nice liberal centrists really not caring - it is unbearable.
Feeling discouraged. I have so much work; really good completed songs. They are really good. I believe in them. Getting them out into the world in a presentable form is scary and hard. :BlobhajShock:

@InayaShujaat you have to weigh the impact to your own mental health. If it makes you miserable, then I'd say don't do it. Keep in mind part of being on Mastodon is utilizing the provided tools to curate your experience. Those are my thoughts, at least.

For a long time, I’m known about Thief: The Dark Project – even seen footage – but I’ve never played it.
Today, I finally played it. And you know what? I now understand why this is considered one of the greatest PC games of all time.
But I also can’t believe this was made by Looking Glass Studios, the same developers who brought us System Shock and Ultima Underworld. For such a short-lived company, what a track record!
I hope some day that someone will re-make this game much like they did with System Shock. As much as I like this game, the max resolution is 800x600, and I haven’t been able to find any mods to upscale it.
Still, this is definitely a classic, and it’s shocking that Thief has never been ported to consoles.
