If you know of resources in your area of the US related to wildfire smoke mitigation like:
-places or organizations giving out free KN95s or air filters
-places where people can go to get out of the smoke
then please let me know and I will add that information to the doc! I'm also looking for resources on actions people can take to mitigate climate change, preferably actions they can take immediately (petitions people can sign, actions they can go to in the near future, that kind of thing), but that is a secondary goal.
CALFIRE Riverside County: "This week, we stop by a vegetation fire that occurred in Homeland just this past Tuesday. And we visit the Ben Clark Training Center where the Moreno Valley College’s School of Public Safety held a career expo. We also take a moment to pay homage to our fallen firefighters for National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, which occurred just this past Saturday and Sunday." #wildfires#Riverside#RiversideCountyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBeYLZ_24ts

This poignant image, taken on 8 August 2021, immortalizes 81-year-old Panayiota Kritsiopi bathed in the orange glow of advancing flames as she flees her home on the Greek island of Evia. “At that moment I was shouting, not only for myself, but for the whole village,” Kritsiopi recounted later.

"Lucy Grainger, FireSmart BC’s education officer, was glad to see a broad range of representatives at the summit — including fire chiefs and members from Indigenous emergency service groups that don’t often get to be in the same room at the same time."
