#Thrift find of the day. A still-working Michael Graves teapot. I love Graves’s whimsical postmodern style and have been in several of his buildings. The little whirligig spins when it boils.
My baby sister is in town to visit. She likes #Japanese stuff (#anime, #Subarus, sushi, etc) and #thrift shopping. What do I need to show her while she's in #Portland?
Our itinerary includes the Japanese Garden, H-Mart, Kinokuniya, Hollywood Thrift, all the #vintage shops on Hawthorne.
What are some deep cuts, super weird kitchy #pdx spots I might not have heard of?
Lainey has been busy pricing her favorite picks individually, it is a lot of work but worth it - if you dont have the energy to get into the bins, just glance over these delights and you are sure to find something special!
Walked into a #thrift store the other day and was thinking about that weird smell they all have. And that it's not the smell of 'old things'. It's Febreze. Gosh, I wish they would use something nicer on their clothing -- like no scent at all.
Found this custom arcade set from Brickloot (it uses and includes real LEGO bricks) sealed and unassembled at Goodwill the other day for pennies. REALLY cool little build. Haven't put on decals yet. Might wanna make my own.
Earlier this week we quietly brought out the long woolen coats and new thick sweaters that we've been promising for ages. We're telling our loyal mastodon followers first so y'all can get some of these beauties before we tell the instagram masses. Winter jackets are still on sale and we've added some vegan leather and vests to the discount rack!
Lainey's is also joining the great mastodon sink pissing debate, or rather highlighting what has always been our position, which is to strictly defend the right to sink piss!

I've fallen in love with #thrift#sewing! I started with a massive box of used bedsheets and have sewn up so many great clothes from them! Now, I'm working my way through thrifted knit fabrics, learning important techniques for sewing knits and testing different fabrics. I've hoarded a few "good" fabrics, waiting until I have the sewing and the pattern just right. I'm having a lot of fun getting to that point.
It's absolutely beat to hell, but when I find an original copy (JP's old copy, according to the cover) of a classic like Paranoid at Goodwill for less than $3, I can't just leave it there. It's too damn beautiful and badass. 🤘
