Watched Across The Spider-Verse. It had nearly as much heart as the first one and was way bigger scope. It’s best moments were so much fun and the relationships in this movie were so so so good.
The art is just so beautiful that any flaws in the storytelling are easily forgiven by me.
When people say that all superheroes are inherently fascist, they're ignoring the very real reasons superheroes were invented (mostly by immigrant Jews before and after WWII as a warning against fascism), and extremely specific examples of superhero antifascism like this. https://dmv.community/@akuchling/110407861811807513
“I got over, very quickly, the idea that this is kind of silly: dressing up in a leotard…There are millions of people out there that love this character...and my job as an actor is to honor that.”

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is coming out on June 2 and Entertainment Weekly has interviews with stars Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld, co-producer Chris Miller and co-directors Kemp Powers and Joaquim Dos Santos. Is it your must-see movie of the summer, or does one of these others tickle your fancy? Comment below if there's another film you're excited for — the 10th "Fast and the Furious"?
When I was a kid I watched #SpiderMan on tv (the classic cartoons). This also got me into #comics, but I didn’t know what I was doing, so I bought what I could find in the general book store.
Web of Spider-Man, issue #36, was the very first #comicbook I got (and still have).
I have lived through far too many historic events as a #Millennial. But few have been more confusing than that there have been no less than three #SpiderMan film franchises in my lifetime that each have two or more movies.
Really not a fan of the current run of the Amazing Spider-Man (2022). It seems the writer is completely out of touch what people enjoy when reading #Spidey#comics. It’s not just the relationship with MJ, but the dreadful, pretty much losing every battle, no witty remarks, etc. I don’t think the writer can redeem himself at this point.
