Is there a common informational resource group on fedi? I’m not talking experts just experienced people that collaborate on shared projects and ideas on fedi.
So someone can say,
Hey #pottery, I have about 400 glazes I’m trying to figure out if they are bad or good.
I also have some molds that were bought as early as 1979. Beautiful shape. About 40 and some are quite large Atlantic or holland.
☺️🙏
Ce n'est qu'une photo qu'on m'envoie, je n'ai pas encore vu les pièces, mais il semble que de mes essais d'enfumage soit né ceci (et ça m'émeut un peu) #ceramique#craft#pottery
A new mug that I made, dinosaur or dragon. When I talk to my friends, we all agree that the best thing about making a dragon is that there are no rules! Plus you can call some a dinosaur or simply a monster--you can please anybody :) #art#mastoart#clay#ceramics#pottery
This tea bowl was originally fired in a conventional glaze firing, but I was not happy with those results.
When I was first starting raku, I thought I'd add some raku glazes to it, and re-fire it in a raku firing. Even though it is not food safe, it's become one of my cherished pieces of self made pottery.

Not really the original plan, but pretty proud of that one 😸🧙 Just a couple of final tidy-ups left for next week... For the cat that is, the others will need some extra sculpting ☺️
I had an idea to try (swooping line), and so was fiddling around and made these mugs. The glaze is from my slop bucket--as in, every drip and washed brush from glazing is saved, and voila! This fun glaze consisting of the dregs of 12 different glazes #clay#ceramics#pottery#art#mastoart
Since my goal is to make 50 tea bowls this year to test glazes with, I am taking some liberties with the shape of some of the pieces.
Do you think this is tea bowl blasphemy or is there a place for less conventionally shaped tea bowls?
Eventually, I will make some matching teapots for my favourite pieces, and the less conventional tea bowls may lead to some interesting teapot designs.
This piece is affectionately known as 'Kermit the Vase'.
