Been annoyed with Doodle's more and more aggressive "pay us" stance recently, so went searching for some sort of alternative. I'm #polyamorous, working in a community of polyamorous people. Scheduling is a PAIN without polls, and also, I don't need to schedule so many meetings that it's worth paying what Doodle wants.
I'm pleased to report that Framadate (https://framadate.org/abc/en/) appears to be an awesome and free alternative. That, amusingly, I'm now going to go give money to.
“What I’ve worked on in the past is how to navigate my feels whilst we’re still without the words and norms for my life.”
Various of my squeezes are navigating various things and I don’t have a norm to talk about it in the way I can if it’s my (nesting) partner going through something. It’s tricky.
Dear @rowyn,
I just finished The Princess, Her Dragon, and Their Prince. It was amazingly sweet. I adored the characters to bits and finished the story happy with the ending yet sad to leave. This is a great example of positive polyamorous representation and I will be reading the rest of your work.
When I am not losing my mind, #gaming and #tech are my deal also a huge #linux nerd. MMO's are my go to, and I'm a pretty huge #GuildWars2 and #FFXIV fan as well a massive #Charr lover :drgn_rainbow:

#therian ( golden retriever ) & #furry ( also golden retriever, plus a few others ). i bark a lot and sometimes i bite :3 i will be posting a lot of thoughts about being both therian & furry.
i read like most people breath, mostly #fantasy & #romance, or as i like to call it, #romantasy. i also read a lot of #queer books. i'm a queer romantasy writer myself, currently working on a novel about a transmasc werewolf & a non-binary vampire that start a polycule full of other supernatural creatures. you can find more about my writing on @fluffypawswrites.

i'd love to make connections with other trans, queer, autistic, adhd, therian, furry etc folks, so please give this a boost so i can find my people :neofox_flag_trans:
Hello, everyone! My name is Ray and my pronouns are he/him. I'm a thirty year old pansexual trans male autie, hence my username. I'm also an anarcho-communist intersectional feminist.
My special interests include but aren't limited to: Japanese pop culture, pop music, social justice and video games.
I hope to get to know and befriend other users who share similar interests and beliefs.
also a #videoGame enthusiast, mostly #survivalCrafting but down for anything but sports and realistic shooters, mostly. Also dabble in #tabletop#TTRPG s and other board games but it's hard to find the right balance between "boringly easy" and "so complicated I get too frustrated and give up before the first role of the dice"
#neurodivergent especially #ADHD and "high functioning" autism (I love to carry on conversations and try my best not to do all the talking, but I have a hard time reading peoples' true emotions so I default to thinking everyone's mad at me all the time 😂 )
#queer#polyamorous#bisexual , pro- #sexWorker though not a sex worker myself (despite all my videos getting categorized as "sexually explicit nudity" 🙄 )
love watching movies and shows about #fantasy#sciFi and #horror -- #psychologicalHorror and/or so-called #elevatedHorror rather than guts and jump scares. I used to read a lot of fantasy and romance also, but social media broke my brain so I have a hard time staying focused on books now 😩
also love #comics especially #webcomics and #satire . Not really into superhero type comics, unless they're the newer ones like the "New 52". I prefer self-contained series with a little bit of weirdness to them like Saga, Rat Queens, and a bunch others I can't remember the names of right now. Often I'll go to the library and check out a fat stack of whatever comics they have, mostly standalones though since they rarely have multiple comic books in a series available in sequential order.
Oops I got too wordy again, better cut it off here 😅
Basically, holler at me if you're a progressive, a gamer, or a parent who is also one or both of the other two things!
As a progressive gamer parent of progressive gamer kids, this is my holler. Nice to meet you.
My household is a mixed bag of neurodivergent, queer, creative folks who think the wondrous variety of humanity is awesome and people should be left alone to live their lives (except billionaires and nazis). We do #ttrpgs, #boardgames, #Minecraft, and long convoluted conversations on many topics. My favourite dinosaur is ceolophysis.
Question to other people who used to be poly but are now committed to 2 or more partners.
Do you still consider yourself poly?
If it's a triad long term committed relationship, do you tell people you're poly?
I just feel like it implies we're open to more relationships when we aren't, but saying monogamous doesn't make sense either.
(Been with one boyfriend for 3 years and the other for soon 1 year).
I guess I'll just stick to saying committed triad. It's just people asking me sometimes or assuming I'm poly, and even in conversations with my boyfriends we don't know what term to use in all sorts of conversations, like I sometimes wanna say I'm poly but then I get a really uncomfortable feeling like it's inaccurate, yet saying monogamous is just not true. I guess I just like one word clear definitions but low key maybe it's best to just say committed triad.
@skaly I guess the way I view it:
Bilingual = more than 1 language
Bisexual = interested in more than 1 gender
Polyamorous = interested in some way with more than 1 partner
Might be pragmatic but I don't push the definitions further than that because the complexities of individual experiences are layered on -top- of these definitions. Each individual can come up with more specific labels if they feel these don't serve them specifically.
#AmWriting a hitherto uncomposed #bisexual, #polyamorous#folktale collected in 1870, in Valle, Aust Agder, in southern #Norway. Nominally AT550 (the golden bird), though the only birds are two crow witches.
This folktale even escaped the attention of Oddbjørg Høgset, the editor of Erotiske folkeeventyr (which forms the foundation of my book from 2017, Erotic Folktales from Norway), because the record lives in a letter to Peter Christen Asbjørnsen, rather than in the folktale notebooks.
“When they were able to speak together, the king’s son told her how everything at come to pass. Now Ingebjørg felt regret for what she had believed of her beloved, and she knew not what to do. She was a married man, yet she did not want to lose her first love.”
So, I had to talk about #Sparta! A warrior society focused on war, women had more rights than their #Athenian counterparts -- and were encouraged to be physically fit and prepared to fight to defend their homeland.
Sparta
Unlike their Greek counterparts, the women of Sparta had a lot more freedom and status. They were educated, since they would be in charge of keeping the homeland running smoothly while the men were at war – but they were also strong and able to defend themselves and their homeland.
Spartan men and women lived in separate quarters – even while married. Married couples would leave their respective quarters to procreate, and Spartan wives were required to have short hair and sometimes wore men’s clothing.
Amongst married couples, the Spartans were relatively #polyamorous, and women were not punished for infidelity.
The two most common forms of Roman marriages were either one where a woman remained under her father’s control, and the other where the woman was under her husband’s control.
Most first marriages were arranged by the father of the bride and groom. There were also #dowries, that were usually “reclaimable by the wife” (Rawson, 19) in the event of #divorce.
If a woman were widowed, she was expected to not remarry for “ten months” (Rawson, 31), most likely to ensure #paternity if the widow were pregnant.
A Roman man could divorce his wife for a number of reasons, including “adulterous behavior” (Rawson, 33). However, it seems that infidelity on the husband’s part was not grounds for divorce.
Despite these oppressive traditions, it was possible for a Roman woman to have independence from both her father’s and her husband’s control: ius liberorum allowed “freeborn” (Rawson, 19) women to achieve “financial independence by bearing three children” (Rawson, 19).
However these children would be considered the property of their father.
Unlike ancient Greek texts, Roman medical literature is full of methods for both preventing pregnancy, and dealing with unwanted pregnancies.
A popular contraceptive method involved inserting “vaginal suppositories” (Lefkowitz, 253), or “a lock of fine wool into the orifice of the uterus” (Lefkowitz, 253).
@twipped Unfortunately, there's really only one here. It seems to be in the process of collapsing, and I've seen heard and experienced reasons from multiple sources that indicate it's not a safe space for me. I've pondered starting one, but assuming that turns out to be feasible, I don't think I'm likely to have the energy to invest in running it until after the new year.
I’ve been trying to get into #blender as well, love 3D art and all the joys that come from working #3dmodeling stuff. Huge into #art and expressing creativity of all kinds, hoping to do more so myself.
Very much a #furry likely a #wyvern :dragnloaf: although still working and exploring that and hoping to find more furry friends here.
Stupidly #kinky and pretty much a #nudist here at this stage fuck clothing 🤣
