Throwing this out into the ether on the off-chance:
I have a Green Power Electric Boot Scooter BH220. I need to remove the battery. Green Power won't tell me how as they want to charge for an engineer to come out.
It has a handle and I'm meant to be able to take it inside to charge it. I was shown how to remove it when I first got it, but I can't remember. I can lift w/handle, but it feels stuck at the front end. How do I release it? #Mobility#disabled#MobilityScooter#Repair
I have been an avid watcher of #Waymo ride along YouTube content for a while now, and I am 100% not surprised that the NHTSA is launching their investigation. Through videos on JJRick’s and Kevin Chen’s YT channels (go check them out) the cars have made a few traffic violations and bend many rules of the road. The most glaring was seeing a Waymo vehicle make a “Pittsburgh left” in San Francisco, not yielding to the cars waiting or the pedestrian on the sidewalk with intent to cross. (1/2)
If #CAV s are going to be integrated into urban life, we need to be designing for them in future streetscapes and #mobility plans.
The amount of people that don’t understand why a robot shouldn’t be allowed to bend human laws is astonishing. I feel that the current #AV movement is very car pilled, focusing on speed and speed alone in the deployment of vehicles onto our streets. AV companies and the city of SF have failed the public in deploying AVs properly, but we can work to fix that. (2/2)
North America is wierd when it comes to transportation. It’s important to remember when reading things about #urbanism and #mobility that American baselines about how things work are not the same as yours.
Walking in the city at night without fear, sustainable #PublicTransport, wider foot and cycle paths in the immediate vicinity to make it easier to "zigzag" throughout the day, or better lighting - women would do a lot of things differently when it comes to #UrbanPlanning.
#Trajectools continues growing. Lately, we have started expanding towards #PublicTransport analyses. The algorithms available through the current Trajectools development version are courtesy of the #gtfs_functions library
13 #European mayors wrote the Financial Times to highlight the worrying trends of central governments restricting local authorities from setting speed limits.
"National policies like there, based not on science but political expediency, harm the ability of local authorities to take decisions on improving the safety and health of their citizens.
The city #transportation system at each end of the #trains is as much a part of the #InducedDemand as the service itself. If you get there and require a car for #mobility, maybe needing to take slow, infrequent #transit to an airport on the edge of town to get a rental, the train has lost its edge vs #shortHaulFlights in time, if not expense. Taking a folding bike on the train is an okay workaround for some, ridehail/taxi activity at train stations suggests a need for bikeshare + #cargoBikes
Helsinki mall bike parking at capacity today at late shopping rush, 19:00. Time to consider expanding?
This mall in Pasila, Tripla, has a fair amount of bike parking, but some of it is at less than ideal locations. This one on Firdonkatu is unbeatable for access to the ground floor supermarkets.
And yes, those are all bikes in active use, because I saw these stands empty not many days ago. #cycling#mobility
"For residents of #Paris and the inner suburbs, however, #publicTransport is the main motorized mode. It is also the leading regional mode for going to work and for going to study. Then, cycling clearly established itself in Paris. Parisians use #bicycles more than #cars."
The TEN-T is the #EU 's primary network of roads, railways, inland waterways, ports, maritime shipping routes, airports and multimodal terminals.
Unfortunately, #cycling was not considered relevant for the network for many years.
In 2024 promoting active modes of transport has been included in TEN-T objectives, highlighted for synergies, included in general priorities for the whole network and additional priorities for railways, inland waterways and roads.
@CernBasher did write a thorough analysis that I recommend in your attention. I want to take a critical look at his predictions and discuss the nuanced realities of such a transformative technology.

As a transportation and urban planner, I look beyond one company or stock. The rise of robotaxis isn't just a corporate shift—it could be a paradigm shift, reshaping urban planning and our societal fabric.
The study shows that the central part is already a 15-minute city, while many suburban neighborhoods have low accessibility scores.
The article also argues that the 15-minute city concept cannot serve as the main development strategy, but can be considered as a flexible tool to support other planning strategies that share the same goals and ambitions.
