Couple years ago I recreated Classic Mac OS progress and indeterminate progress bars with Core Animation. I really need to find a project to use them in! 😁
Also, the barber pole style indeterminate progress bars were just sooooo “Macintosh.”
I hope everyone has a great day except the person who decided to remove them from modern macOS. Ugh.
@kiwa#MacOS9 on them is fantastic and on pair as the most highend as MacOS9 experience gets. And the amount of software for MacOS9 is huge and easy to get hold of via Macintoshgarden and MacintoshRepository.
Some of my posts in here is about the experience of MacOS9 on #MacMiniG4. I can recommend the journey of fiddling about with some nice old software and think about the 90's. I had some fantastic months of entertainment with it the last years.
(Not my set up btw. Stole the picture from a friend)
Edit: This is from an eBay listing and it seems that has already finished but it is all in German so if you are curious about what all the stuff is, check it out here: https://www.ebay.de/itm/145149706202
On August 31, 1999, Apple Computer unveiled the PowerMac G4! The PowerMac G4 was a milestone in Apple's history.
This powerhouse came equipped with 64MB of RAM, a CD-ROM drive, and a cavernous 10GB hard disk. It wasn't just a computer; it was a digital command center, ready to tackle any task with grace and speed as they marketed it as a “personal supercomputer”.
👴 Na, wer von euch erinnert sich noch an macOS 9? Auf der #Macoun23 erzählt @uliwitness , wie das original MacOS damals funktionierte, und schreibt ein kleines Programm. Ohne Speicherschutz, ohne präemptives Multitasking, ohne App-Frameworks. Tickets: https://macoun.de/anmelden
This is a CD containing a Kodak "Business Game", released in ~1998, for MacOS.
The "game" involves various videos and text documentation relating to Kodak and it's business practices. It's presented in #Swedish, #Norwegian, #Finnish, and #Danish.
