PSA: it is now officially time to stop bickering online about what 'liberal' means and send some of your G20 money to the modern day slave laborers thirsting for clean water and dying of preventable diseases in the global south because of our world's leading (extremely corrupt) financial policies and institutions that gave you those G20 bucks and expected you not to mind their enslavement of the unfortunate people "born into" poverty. Yeah?
I'm especially interested in the potential conflict between concepts of #land#landback and #property and rights concerning #geography between cultures who associate themselves with belonging to the land vs. so-called true nomadic or semi-nomadic cultures (not so much pastoral nomads who still have a sense of belonging to a specific geography).
Added bonus if there is an intersection with #leftist, especially #communist critique.
The capitalist ruling class uses propaganda, manipulation, and false promises to maintain control over the masses, just as the axe convinces the trees to vote for it despite the threat it poses. We need solidarity among the working class to counter and dismantle of hierarchical power structures that corrupt our minds and actions.

also love #comics especially #webcomics and #satire . Not really into superhero type comics, unless they're the newer ones like the "New 52". I prefer self-contained series with a little bit of weirdness to them like Saga, Rat Queens, and a bunch others I can't remember the names of right now. Often I'll go to the library and check out a fat stack of whatever comics they have, mostly standalones though since they rarely have multiple comic books in a series available in sequential order.

I'm a very #leftist kinda lawyer in a very rightist kinda region.
In meeting with clients over the years, I note that they often like to talk about politics. I'm not entirely sure why. Some, perhaps do so to "feel out" whether I'm their type of attorney. Some maybe think lawyers have some deeper political insight due to their connection to the law. I don't know. I just know it happens with great regularity.
And being a leftist in an extremely rightist world, you can imagine my discomfort.
Fortunately, I've found a strategy that seems to allow me to bond with clients no matter how rightwhackadoodle they seem. Are you ready for it?
