The G3 PowerBook (Wallstreet) was announced the same day as the #iMac. The Wallstreet II and the Pismo, to me, were the best Apple laptops of all time until the Intel switchover. The TiBook had a better design but that Pismo. Oh how teenage me wanted one.
I use an iMac with this great disco keyboard. It’s perfect, except that the F6 key puts the screen to sleep, which really stinks because despite my legendary grace <coughs> I keep hitting that key while moving my keyboard around during Zoom calls, ejecting me from the call.
So I pulled the key off. But is there any way to re-map the key? I have looked this up several different ways and is it just that search engines suck? I can’t find the answer. Anyone know?

An Iconic Anniversary - The iMac recently had its 25 year anniversary and to help commemorate the event, Iconfactory artist @talosman has cooked up some very special icons for the occasion.
Another act against programmed #obsolescence with a friend's #iMac, which was in perfect condition but hadn't had macOS updates for a few years and so couldn't have the latest software (thanks golden prison), which was annoying for a web browser (as an example).
As she no longer had any specific software needs, just office software, a bit of web and video playback, I installed @elementary for her and she's super happy, it's even weird for her to have regular updates 😅
Look what came into my possession today! This beautiful late-2006 #Apple#iMac has a broken screen and likely other issues. Gonna try to bring it back to life.
As seen in an antique mall in St. Louis county this afternoon.

One of my really good friends surprised me with a neon-like Apple-cursive style “hello” signs I can wall mount.
It’s so neat bc it has a remote control to change it from countless settings. From rainbow to animated lights, it’s there are so many light styles and light shows!!! 🤓

Rappel des faits : démontage pour nettoyage, changement du DD pour un SSD, ajout de mémoire et passage sur #ElementaryOS.
Pas de bêtise de ma part mais un "v-câble de synchronisation" (affichage) HS et, après rachat de la pièce défectueuse, plus d'affichage (sur un autre écran c'est OK) au démarrage.
Vous auriez un plan pour une carte graphique "d'époque" ? 😓
It is absolutely mind bending how many options ffmpeg has. I've been trying to convince it to use the old Radeon 2600 Pro graphics hardware acceleration. No luck finding the magic command yet! :)
