My #ActivityPub server is receiving “GET /poco” requests from #Friendica servers (based on the user-agent). Can anybody point me to the documentation for this behavior? #AskFedi
@omz13@hypolite I see now what your talking about. This is super weird. Maybe a bug in federation between the newer version that masto.social is running and #friendica since the thread is all intact on my version of mastodon.
@dgar Yeah, sorry 'bout dat. I prolly made a silly decision, but given for most of today i've been testing this alternative #Friendica instance, i thought i'd not yet change its weirdarse default avatar to my own one, til i was absolutely sure it is a goer. Afaict it seems to be coming along pretty nicely [vs my sad venera & libranet Friendica instances whose server has been having apoplexy for ~36 hrs+ & on which i've now given up]. If tomorrow morning anonsys.net still seems good, then i'll formally upgrade it to my new daily fedi, signified then by my proper avatar... 🤞
I'm getting increasingly annoyed by #Friendica 's rogue move when I step away from the computer to eat a bite of lunch, come back to resume scrolling the feed, but when I click on the Like button, the goddamn thing takes it upon itself to autorefresh and the post disappears heavily buried in the stream never to be seen again....AND in my settings I have the refresh turned completely OFF.
Hey Friendica designers, I'm rapidly progressing from annoyance to being thoroughly pissed.
Moin zusammen,
the last #Friendica#Hackathon took place online in 2021. It's about time we did something along these lines again. Who of you would be there?

Also #Friendica a few yrs before that, but the date is lost in the mist of time. Or wait, was that #Identica ? Now I'm not sure I remember – which was around in the 2015ish era?
One of the action items that came out was to collate the state of current implementations. Unfortunately, outside of implementations that federate non-textual content (e.g. Pixelfed Stories, Mobilizon Events, etc.), the majority of implementors just use as:Note, which is not surprising given Mastodon's treatment of non-Note objects.
What is less clear is whether there is pent-up demand for use of a different data type for more richly forrmatted content. @mikedev and @jupiter_rowland provided some very illuminating history behind previous attempts to use as:Article, but importantly it seems that Mastodon (via @renchap) may be open to supporting this in some form as well.
While Mastodon has every reason to display as:Note as it sees fit, I'd like to hopefully address the undue influence towards using it especially in instances where as:Article were more appropriate. Mike (upthread) suggested a compromise:
that as:Note be reserved for content with attachments (images or otherwise), perhaps with a limited subset of html
and as:Article be used for content with a richer set of html (e.g. tables), and including the ability to display inline images
I explicitly did not specify that Note was for shorter content and Article for longer, because there exist plenty of examples of the reverse.
Does anybody see potential complications from such an arrangement?
I'll try to give it a boost from my #Mitra, #Hubzilla, and #Friendica accounts too (if I haven't already) so you can study/compare the various treatment cases :)
Sadly, I have not yet launched streams yet for study. I know, I'm a lame-O. I'll get to it shortly, prolly just spin up a local VM on Proxmox for that here, I really am anxious to give it a go :)

#Emailadresse + #Passwort registriert?
Happy Birthday to the oldest fediverse server project that is still actively maintained. This marks the beginning of development of the Mistpark decentralised social network. We decided not to wait for "quit Facebook Day" in 2010 (May 31). We hit the ground running and haven't looked back. (Mike Macgirvin) 14th Birthday #Friendica!
@Taleya Thanks for your sage advice. Should it ever happen that one day i decide to create a Lemmy account & begin using it, i hope that i remember this tip.
In the meantime, from my #Friendica & #Mastodon accounts, my OP & this reply now both coming from the former, @'s & #'s do work that way. The #Fediverse is far wider than only Lemmy.

Testing the Fediverse's interconnectivity between apps and protocols
One thing that would have been nice to know as a newbie on the Fediverse:...
