Climbing is good fun, try it! Bouldering, like the gif example, is an easy entry into the activity of climbing. Just put on your climbing shoes and try the wall.
Doing boulder climb is a lot of joy. I enjoy the challenge of problem solving and the finer aspect of technical and balance movement. Yes I prefer (indoor) slabs but power moves are okay too.
I'm finally back on the #bouldering wall as of today, after my forced break of more than a month thanks to #COVID.
My fear of heights did not return, which is great news! Strength was also still surprisingly fine, and I even managed to do a 35 grip traversal route 💪
I need to build up my stamina and also the skin on my hands again, but all in all this was a good restart for me 😊
Wrist is better again, no issues during this morning's #bouldering session. Still working on that project I found on Tuesday, have made some minor progress there but still getting turned out of the wall. Had some fun with a ton of newly created routes in another part of the gym and once more lost some skin 😅
First time #bouldering in two weeks. And sadly my fear of heights came back and prevented me from finishing a whole bunch of routes. Back to fighting that down again I guess!
Busy morning thanks to an MRI appointment that's now taken care of and a COVID booster appointment in 30min, but I still managed to get a #bouldering session in! A bit more successful than Tuesday's, and @timothy also got to tag along 😊
My name is Sean. I'm a broke, bi artist living in Cape Town, South Africa.
I work as an #actor#model and #voiceover.
I busy myself with #tennis#bouldering#reading and #writing (sci-fi and fantasy mostly).
I hope to find and belong to a #community where I can feel safe and creatively inspired.
Expect links to things I find interesting and perhaps some more intimate posts of my thoughts, performances or writing samples.
Hey @godotengine, look at this cutie @fahrstuhl made for my birthday! 🤩 Complete with wobbly eyes, which obviously is a must-have these days! (CC @kenney)
Lesson learned: if my head is going "if you now slip on this slippery hold, you'll hit that sharp edge of this volume right with your shin" I should listen to it & abort my attempt.
This morning's #bouldering session was interrupted by a quite sharp pain when said scenario indeed played out between my right shin & the lower volume in that picture, and I now get to enjoy a quite painful lower leg with a big bruise forming 😅
Still could finish some easier routes after, no long term harm done.
Despite sleeping bad tonight (nightmare woke me in the middle of the night and then I couldn't fully fall asleep again 🙄) I still got up way too early for my Tuesday #bouldering session. Twisted my ankle a bit on a route 45min in, so I didn't do the full hour this time, but still managed to surprise myself a couple of times when I was able to pull off moves I didn't think I could do 💪
The ankle is ok btw, just a bit grumpy but should be fine again by tomorrow.
Lol the extremely ungraceful exit as I finish a route, slip while deciding whether to downclimb, and hit the ground (well, the mat) with a loud grunt. #climbing#bouldering
About 2 months ago, I injured my fingers while #bouldering. It was a really stupid route where there were no good footholds when you reach the last crappy two-finger hold (I'm still mad at the route setters for that).
I skipped a week of climbing, & the next few weeks I avoided using those fingers. It was feeling better, so after a month I went back to climbing harder & re-injured the fingers (I'm still mad at myself for that).
