“I knew my pentatonic scales before I went to Berklee – and 90% of the time that’s what I’m called upon to play”: For the third time in his career, Chris Chaney has landed one of bassdom’s most coveted gigs – a slot in the re-energized AC/DC
Jazz-schooled bassist Chris Chaney has now secured three career-defining gigs – first with Alanis Morissette and Jane’s Addiction, and now with AC/DC
Yusef Lateef, "Mushmouth" (1976). Bass by (I believe) the great Anthony Jackson. This track is a lesson in advanced funk bass-playing. Jackson is completely out of control, in a good way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sAw-FQNnnY#bass
Had an idea to take an old song I wrote and meld it with an new one I am working on. It worked! Took the guitar part and made it the bass line. Once it got the tempo correct it was all good. #MakingMusic#HomeRecording#LogicPro#Guitar#Bass
If you are a person with skills, this has potential. No connection to the seller, might be a scam, and all the caveats. On the other hand, that's an interesting project.
I am getting to a point where I see that I progress in my #bass practice, but progress is so slow. Not sure if I am impatient or simply reaching a limit in how much I can improve.
Things that don’t help (maybe): practicing too many techniques at once, playing songs that I don’t really like, and drilling songs again and again for an exam that I hope to take soon.
I guess this is the disadvantage of going to a music school and following their program.
A couple of people have asked, since my recent instance change, about what I'm playing - musically speaking. Recently, I've been just messing around for a couple of hours, no more than 3-4 takes, and no previous idea of what I was going to do. Usually on a Sunday morning. As you can imagine it can vary in success widely but I'm also trying to learn how to record myself, get better at playing, everything really ... Here is a recent one.
Ayyyy #GearSquad let’s talk about amplifier speakers today. What’s the best speaker you’ve heard or used? Size? What amp was it paired with? Tell us why it changed your sonic life. #guitar#bass#synth
Quick introduction now that I've moved to Mastodon Music.
Swiss-based musician - bass, guitar, key, vocals of varying competencies. Played in Sydney in the 80s, Brisbane in the 90s, Myspace in the 00s + a rogue folk-acoustic set somewhere in there, nothing at all in the 10s!, and now active again. Several solo, collaborative and band activities locally and in Australia.
Also trying to recover all my old friends after the unexpected move, so boosts appreciated.
Nice! Logic 11 can do Stem Splitting now. This way I can remove the #bassguitar for tracks I'm doing a play along to. It's not perfect but already so much better than not having it. Wondering how well this is going to help me to transcribe stuff 🤔 #basshttps://youtu.be/exLkvKjs3GQ?si=_0ZVai7JlSoCACtE&t=2077
Na, dann wollen wir mal: Moin Moin, ich bin #neuhier (auf dieser Instanz) und freue mich als Hobby-Radler, Klimaschützer, Musiker und FOSS-Enthusiast auf gleichgesinnte. #bicycle#bass#climatejustice#foss
