Anybody here into archery? I’m thinking of taking it up and wouldn’t mind some pointers for a beginner. No hunting, only targets for fun & exercise. Considering a recurve with 30-40 lbs draw. Anything beyond that, I’m clueless. Planning a trip to a semi-local archery shop that has a good reputation. Advice? #archery

I don’t view things as good vs bad. There’s not always a victim, villain, and savior. Life is much more complex than that. For that reason, I’m not one to assume ill-intent. I love to learn new things.
New bow came! #Alibow, Tibetan style, #60 at 29 inches and it's a beast to string! Unfortunately my neck is still sore from a few bad form pulls on my part so I'm going to heal up a bit before shooting it.
#archery Hi all, I am looking for a good sturdy arrow rest. I shoot recurve with carbon/alu arrows and I am open for suggestions.
I was thinking like something this:
I'm interested in your #archery stories regarding how you got involved in the sport. What got you interested? What barriers for entry did you experience? What keeps you shooting? What caused you to lapse?
An update on my #archery adventure progress to see how far I can go at field archery with my ridiculously cheap $200 compound bow.
I discovered that the Chinese company who make my bow, make a thumb button release as well, so I had to try one. For science!
Looking back, this may be my all-time-best round. Twelve arrows at 20 yards. I have yet to match this consistency and accuracy in a single round. #barebow#archery
Almost complete. This is a 70" pacific yew bow that I've carved, and it's currently pulling 40 pounds at a 25" draw.
It looks like it's doing what it's supposed to be doing.
