Does #AffinityPhoto take a really long time to load for everyone else?

I've got a pretty beefy M1 mac and I swear that, by far it takes the longest time to show ANYTHING on the screen after invoking it. Multiple seconds of "is it working?!" and then the splash screen appears.

Compared to an app like #affinitydesigner or #illustrator, @inkscape may have its rough edges, but overall I really enjoy working with #inkscape. 😊️ And while I also appreciate #gimp (as an #affinityphoto or #photoshop alternative), I prefer the #ux and #ui of Inkscape.

Been developing a template file for a new client in Affinty Publisher this week. And I have to say that the more I use that app, the more I like it.

Okay, there are a few features that I’ve had to look up online, as they’re not that intuitive. But everything is coming together nicely.

If only I had the same enthusiasm and love for Designer and Photo. But currently I don’t.

Turns out that Adobe is collecting all of its customers' pictures into a machine learning training set.

This is opt-out, not opt-in so if you use Lightroom, for example, it defaults to adding all of your photos to the set.

If these are unpublished pictures, work-in-progress, etc. they'll still be analysed as soon as they're synced.

I've been using Lightroom to sync photos from my Windows desktop to my iPad. Now I need to reconsider that.

Anyone have an opinion about #photoshop replacements for MacOS? I don't use it enough to justify another annual subscription. Looking at #pixelmatorpro and #acorn and #affinityphoto but haven't actually tried any of them out yet. Will hopefully be checking out some of the trials this weekend.
