Devils Garden primitive loop trail at Arches National Park (Utah, USA) [1/3]
Probably the most challenging hike I’ve done with so much up and down and scrambling over and around rocky curves, but great to get away from crowds and out into the landscape.

Some people say lions sleep 22 out of every 24 hours. It's true we often see them lying in the grass, sometimes yawning. But it doesn't mean they sleep when we're not there. “Lions lying sleeping in the shade on a hot day are […] conserving energy during the least energetically efficient time of the day. […] If the energy costs involved in an activity aren’t outweighed by its potential benefits, they simply won’t do it.” Clever.
Le Gratin Mondain is a guest house in Noyers-sur-Serein, one of the most beautiful villages of France.
Noyers has retained much of its medieval appearance. Its heritage is not based on exceptional monuments, but on the unity of the various buildings, most of which were constructed between the 15th and 16th centuries, either within the fortified enclosure of the Bourg located in the meander of the Serein, or on either side of the causeway leading to the faubourg.
From the ancient fortifications of the medieval town, several fortified gates leading to the village and the ramparts remain, with 19 towers (out of the original 23).
Honestly, our two-day stopover in Patmos was a lucky coincidence that came about through a name mix-up 😂 patmos, piraeus... 🧏♀️ I don't know... thanks to my legastenic brain and the stressy situation at the ferry ticket office 🤷♀️
The ferry crossing was already amazing 🤩, but when we arrived in Patmos and were warmly welcomed at the vegan restaurant 'Pernera' with our loaded bicycles, we were very happy about this confusion 🥰 !
Sidenote: The neighboring shop initially wanted to send us away and said we should park our bikes in the parking lot at the harbor... yea of course... not!
In the beautiful 'Pernera', we enjoyed a vegan and gluten-free menu, prepared with love from organic and local ingredients 🫠. And besides the delicious food, our souls were nourished by the inspiring and motivating conversations we had with the people there 🫶
The search for a campground in the picturesque small bays was a bit challenging. Either the beach was too narrow for a tent or private. Fortunately, it was still off-season, and we were able to set up our inner tent in the bay 'Kampos Beach' next to the beach bar, as the beach taverns and sunbed rentals were not yet active.
Amboseli National Park is a national park in Kenya that spreads across the Kenya-Tanzania border. It has great views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
This awesome view, the large variety of wild animals, and dirt tracks that can be used by buses, make it one of the most tourists crowded national park in Kenya.

The plains surrounding Kilimanjaro (the “lowlands”), are located between 600 and 800 meters above sea level. The climate is very hot and dry.
The vegetation is mainly composed of savannahs made up of numerous plant species, including the famous umbrella thorn acacia, a thorny tree that can reach up to 21 m high.
Just got off the Falkirk Wheel and it's a great experience on an incredible bit of engineering. We were taken up, piloted along the aqueduct, turned around, and came back the same way. Smooth ride, barely even notice you're being lifted or lowered.
Heading back towards #Greenock through #Glasgow and we've got a sea day tomorrow before we reach the Shetlands.
