Artwork for #throwbackthursday. This is the first painting I completed in spring 2020. Inspired by #Monterey Bay Aquarium, I loved working in vibrant colors and detail. It cheered me up to have this project in the early days of the pandemic. Also the first painting I put in my #society6 shop.
I'm going to combine #StarWarsDay with #throwbackthursday today. Let's take a look at probably my most popular let's play when I played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.
This is one of my personal favorites. In Galveston, Tx looking out at the Gulf I turned around to see this tall ship sailing across the sand. Surreal, a mist rising off the wet sand and a Phantom Tall Ship sailing by on the other side of a sand dune. Something about light and mist gave the ship a ghostly appearance.
Can't remember the last time I saw a really spectacular #sunset, especially in a place this special.
In 2010 I spent a few nights in Inverie, on the west coast of #Scotland. To get there you either have to take a boat or walk in over the mountains as it is not connected to the road network despite being on the mainland.
This is a gem of a museum with a genuine throwback to another age. I enjoy wandering through the exhibits admiring the vast collection of #skeletons from around the world.
A #ThrowbackThursday from my grandmother's trunk. This house is where she was born. It belonged to her grandmother and grandfather, Proctor and Lula Johns. It was vacant but still standing when my Mom was little. No one agrees on what happened but it no longer exists today. My Mom remembers hearing it was struck by lightning and burned. It was in the small community of Midway in Bullock County, Alabama.
The photo was taken circa 1932 by my grandfather. The man standing in the yard was my great grandfather (grandmother's father). There are people on the porch I can't identify.
#TBT#ThrowbackThursday Summer, 2010, My ex (Bob Counihan) and I have a picnic on Spectacle Island, part of the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area. Here are the high lights of the round trip ferry ride, some time walking the island's paths, And lunching. No video of our dinner. I make a brief voice cameo near the beginning. Sadly, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this classic machine do its magic, but I love the design and the mark it left not only on music but also on interior design.
