Zur #Nachhaltigkeit von #Hardware trägt Langlebigkeit und daher auch deren Reparierbarkeit wesentlich bei. In Frankreich müssen Geräte-Hersteller auf der Verpackung eine Reparierbarkeitsnote angeben. Ersatzteile und Reparaturanleitungen müssen z.B. mind. 7 Jahre verfügbar gemacht werden, um eine gute Note beim "Indice de réparabilité" zu erreichen. So auch beim #Smartphone.

I was pleasantly surprised that Qi charging had improved and kept case temperatures better in check, but we still saw elevated temperatures for roughly two hours on a full charge.
Now, iFixit delivers even more data on wireless charging, and it's not great. You're trading a lot of waste and heat for some mediocre "convenience"...

Eigentlich wollte ich heute mal mit dem Rad eine längere Tour unternehmen, ist mir dann aber doch zu windig. Also werde ich mich stattdessen mal um mein Telefon kümmern und endlich das in die Jahre gekommene /e/-OS (aus irgend einem Grund bekomme ich da seit längerem keine Aktualisierungen mehr ... :undecided: ) gegen #iodéOS tauschen.

When I bought my last #smartphone in 2019, I got a case for it, not realizing it already came with one.
I simply decided to use the "official" case with it and keep the extra as a backup "just in case".
Last year I finally got fed up with how the first case had yellowed and just didn't look nice anymore. Got my second case on it and I have had that "new phone" feel for months now without spending or buying a new one. I might use that trick for the next phone, too.
