W Wiszni Małej (powiat trzebnicki) 3 września (niedziela) organizujemy imprezę charytatywną, z której dochód będzie przeznaczony na leczenie i rehabilitację okolicznych dzieciaków. Zachęcam do wsparcia - można upiec ciasto, podarować fanty na loterię, pomóc jako wolontariusz(ka) na miejscu. Jeśli chcecie się zaangażować - dajcie znać :-)
@didleth No do angażowania w konkretne wydarzenia to jednak by się przydało szersze użycie platform, które obsługują kalendarz: #mobilizon, #friendica, #hubzilla, #zap. Gdyby ten post był jako wydarzenie to bym go widział cały czas u siebie w kalendarzu (który mi pokazuje wydarzenia ze wszystkich kont, które obserwuję), niezależnie od tego czy akurat "się załapie" na moja uwagę na osi czasu.
Także - zachęcam po zakładania kont, które obsługują wydarzenia no i do publikowania postów , które mają lokalizację w czasie i przestrzeni jako wydarzenia.

Myśleliśmy w @ftdl nad postawieniem instancji któregoś z tych oprogramowań jako wydarzenia.pol.social.
Tylko że bez przełamania facebookowego monopolu na eventy nie bardzo ma to sens, byłoby pustawo i sprawiało błędne przekonanie, że "nic tu nie ma".
Myślałem też o automacie "importującym" z fb wybrane eventy, ale to w sumie też chyba nie tędy droga.
A i o imporcie z radar.squat.net
Podyskutowałbym na te tematy, bo możliwości są, oprogramowanie jest, można by zadziałać, jeśliby znalazły się chętne do włączenia w taki projekt osoby.

Postanowiłem zrobić eksperyment i zrobiłem to samo wydarzenie w kilku miejscach, które obsługują wydarzenie jako osobny rodzaj postu.
Utrzymujemy wydarzenia na Friendice, ale wydarzenia są niewygodne w użyciu; zrobienie wydarzenia długo trwa – zdjęcie z linkiem trzeba wprowadzać ręcznie kodem.
Mniej więcej to samo na Hubzilli, tylko Hubzilla ma opcje pozwalające modyfikować, jak wydarzenie będzie wyglądać w AP (i tak wychodzi tak sobie).
Najwięcej nadziei daje Mobilizon z wtyczką do WordPressa (nie testowałem jeszcze). Ale instancja mobilizon.pl ma bugi (albo w ogóle mobilizon ma bugi) – brak opisów w niektórych opcjach (nie wiadomo, co się klika). Jeszcze inne błędy wyskakują i nie jest łatwo ustalić, gdzi się coś źle wypełniło, bo nie ma opisu. No ale generalnie działa.
#Wishlist:
• porządna instalacja mobilizon
• coś bardziej zaawansowanego niż Mastodon. Ja bym był za #Streams od Mike Macgirvin (pierwszy twórca Friendica). To jego ostatnie dzieło z porządnym szyfrowaniem i obsługą nomadyczności, uproszczone w stosunku do Hubzilli. To by była chyba jedyna publiczna instalacja na świecie tego, bo Mike się absolutnie nie reklamuje. There's an ongoing discussion of this policy and of joining the anti-Meta #fedipact (https://fedipact.online) with neuromatch.social members on our socialwg-fediblock forum on discord. If you have anything you'd like us to change in this policy, please share your thoughts either here or on discord* before we move to an instance-wide vote sometime next week with a 7-day voting window. We are a cooperatively governed instance and we are following a consensus-based decision making process rather than just letting the admins of the instance take a stance here
This is an important discussion to have because it determines who we all choose to interact with on fedi and the social working group plans to use this general Federation Abuse Policy to guide future federation and moderation decisions**

Ich denke darüber nach, eine Gruppe (Friendicaforum) zum Thema zeitgenössische Kunst einzurichten. Dazu hab ich vorab noch paar Fragen:
Welche sinnvollen Einstellungen sollte ich vornehmen (damit das nicht aus dem Ruder läuft und vielleicht auch moderierbar ist)?
benötigt so eine Gruppe viel mehr Recourcen als ein "normaler" Friendicaaccount" (@jakob was hast Du für Erfahrungen mit der fedibike-Gruppe?)
ich finde Deine Gruppenbeschreibung mit dem Hinweis auf die techn. Hintergründe auch bezgl. Masto bei der Fedibikegruppe super, darf ich die inhaltlich weitgehend über nehmen (ich finde Einheitlichkeit hilft bei so was)?
was gibt es sonst noch zu bedenken, was ich ünersehen könnte?

Ich hab auf dem Server, wo ich friendica laufen habe, noch meine Nextcloud.
Und wie du weißt, bin ich allein mit der Fedibikes-Gruppe und noch zwei anderen je ~1000 Followern.
Und ich hab derzeit 15GB RAM in der Kiste und 9GB Swapfile... und seit gestern schlägt der OOM-Killer zu... Sprich Speicher wird zu wenig.
Meine Friendica-Datenbank nimmt mittlerweile 35GB ein, und da hab ich die Bilder aber noch im Filesystem abgelegt und nicht in der Datenbank.
Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht genau, was da jetzt SO viel Ressourcen frisst in der DB.
Und was genau den RAM benötigt... kann ich dir leider auch nicht sagen. Es erschrickt mich jedenfalls enorm, wie sehr sich das zu einem Ressourcenfresser ausgewachsen hat in den 2 Jahren.
Was die Moderation angeht, bin ich ein wenig ... sagen wir auf die Realität zurückgekehrt.
Die Natur von Activitypub lässt sinnvolle Moderation nur schwer zu.
Du kannst User ignorieren oder blockieren (wobei ich den Unterschied immer noch nicht kapiert habe... ich kann sowohl blockierte als auch ignorierte User und deren Beiträge sehen... aber halt zugeklappt...). Dann kriegen die keine Updates mehr von der Gruppe und können nix mehr schreiben.
Ich musste bislang ein einziges Mitglied aus der Radgruppe entfernen. Dieses Mitglied suchte offenbar Streit und sah persönliche Angriffe bis hin zu Stalking-Versuchen wenn jemand auf Postings öfter reagierte oder gar versuchte zu widersprechen... Nun... seitdem ist Ruhe im Karton. :)
Aber was eben die Moderation angeht, wenn eine Diskussion ausartet, da hast du keine Möglichkeit einzugreifen. Denn Antworten werden von den Servern der Teilnehmer direkt an die erwähnten User gesendet. Das geht nicht über die Gruppe. Es wird nur die Antwort AUCH an die Gruppe zurückgesendet und die verteilt es dann wiederum an die Follower.
Läuft eine Diskussion aus dem Ruder und es befetzen sich zwei, drei User, kannst du diese Diskussion nicht abdrehen... Das finde ich unschön.
Ich bin am Überlegen, einen eigenen Fedibikes-Server ins Leben zu rufen... und denke da mittlerweile an Lemmy.
Warum?
Lemmy-Communities können von Friendica 1:1 verwendet werden.
Und von allen anderen Services auch.
Friendica-Gruppen können von Lemmy leider nicht benutzt werden. Ich weiß nicht, wie weit @heluecht da schon gekommen ist. Aber irgendwas hakt da. Man kann nix von Lemmy in Friendica-Gruppen posten und kriegt auch keine Updates. Obwohl ich eine Friendica-Gruppe von Lemmy aus abonnieren kann.
Andererseits wiederum ist die Kalender-Funktion in Friendica natürlich schon grad auch für Gruppen eine gute Sache. Bei #Mobilizon geht ja die Entwicklung sehr schleppend... und was die Kommentar-Funktion angeht, ist das wirklich sehr rudimentär... Abgesehen von vielen anderen lästigen Bugs.
Ein weiterer Punkt ist die defacto Unvereinbarkeit des UX von Friendica-Gruppen mit Mastodon. Es beschweren sich Mastodonten immer wieder (und einige haben die Fedibikes-Gruppe schon deswegen verlassen), weil jedes Kommentar ein Boost ist, und es ihnen die Timeline "zumüllen" würde... und sie kriegen Antworten die sie nicht interessieren... weil die Gruppe halt alles teilt, wie ein Forum/Mailingliste.
Es passt einfach nicht zusammen, wie Menschen Mastodon verwenden, und wie Gruppen funktionieren. Das sind Philosophie-Unterschiede die meines Erachtens unüberbrückbar sind.
Aber Mal sehen... vielleicht hat ja mal jemand den Großen Wurf einer Idee dazu. :)

I know this is the wrong time to ask, but can anyone recommend a fediverse instance for a long-running local (Manchester UK) sci-fi virtual book club? (a few posts a month I'd expect)
I actually think a Mobilizon instance might be useful. Yes, the UI isn't the most customizable, but it does federate and people with Mobilizon accounts can interact pretty deeply with any Mobilizon group you make.
You could create a group there (you need a Mobilizon account to manage and administer the group, but Mastodon/etc can follow the "group account" (not your Mobilizon one) to get posts and events sent to their timeline.
Was aanwezig bij geweldig inspirerende #PubConf2023. Ben blij dat ik weer hoorde over kunstenaar Julia Janssen en ... weet nu ook dat Mastodon hoort bij #fediverse

also like, #Mobilizon is a thing.
It's not only FOSS, self-hostable, allows people to check-in anonymously, federates with ActivityPub and is an easy link to send to people, BUT IT HAS MORE FEATURES THAN FACEBOOK EVENTS.
or if you don't want to bother with Mobilizon accounts and groups: #gathio is also FOSS, self-hostable, anonymous, federatable and well-featured.
there's literally no reason to keep send people to Facebook to get event updates nowadays.
We're looking for an event registration site or service that 1) verifies e-mail addresses, 2) allows custom registration fields, 3) supports multiple ticket categories, 4) can take payment from people anywhere on the planet 5) has reasonable privacy practices and 6) integrates with the Fediverse.
In order for #decentralization to work, the server install process for services is going to HAVE to improve. If I'm interested in running a federated instance of a service, and the first thing I see is a 35-step tutorial about how to configure nginx or arcane PHP requirements, I'm going to bail.
I think about Nextcloud, and how I installed a snap for it, and it's updated through 8 major upgrades of the service without me ever doing anything to admin it. That's where we need to get to.
