I'm on a motivation streak for #HalfLife#TAS editor 2, so let's start a thread, why not?
For context, this is an in-game interactive editor for crafting tool-assisted #speedrun s, implemented in an LD_PRELOAD / DLL-injected mod.
TAS editor 2 is me redoing it completely from scratch in #Rust with all lessons learned and very ambitious architectural ideas. It's been going very slowly, but I got the initial groundwork done, hopefully it'll be better.
it's friday soon so here's a quick reminder i've set up a half-life server, would love to try getting some games rolling over the weekend. no set times really, but evenings in the CET timezone is when i'll mostly be here to play.
One of my favorite things in #HalfLife is if you pay attention everyone fucking hates Gordon (except Barney seemingly) and it's strongly implied he's the one in the anti mass spectrometer with the sample because they don't like him.
Which is the only reason he survives (due to the HEV suit)

One thing I don't think people quite get about the sun belt that #BlackMesa and #HalfLife get right? The prevalence of large, crunchy bugs indoors.
To wit, I just spent several minutes looking for an alarm going off, decided to take a washroom break and found the source of the alarm. It wasn't an alarm, it was a cicada singing the song of its people while sitting on the toilet seat in the washroom.
So, plugged in the old Logitech Pilot mouse. Tawny port opened; let's see how far i can get.
I am so glad i started #HalfLife directly with online multiplayer deathmatch. Never played the actual game back then. A very fresh retro-vintage experience that is. And a great game.
