Such a shame I love Apple Arcade. I don't play a ton of games from the library but I have a few favorites and it's worth the price of admission just to never have to deal with ads or microtransactions.
I simply don't play games on my iPhone unless they're paid upfront or part of Apple Arcade.
As always, I’m late to the party here. But, I just saw that Fantasian, a Final Fantasy type game on Apple Arcade, is out with Part II. It’s a solid, fun story, tho it’s been so long since I played Part I a refresher is due!
Here is my continued discomfort with the Apple Vision Pro and how its announcement/roll-out has gone: In every single way, this is a dev kit, which I think is completely valid and is the proper positioning for a device like this at this stage. But Apple, while somewhat positioning it like a dev kit in terms of price/release/how it can be tried out, continues to market this as a direct to consumer device. You cannot be both, and I cannot stress this enough. You cannot be both.
They say it will ship with spatial versions of #Safari, Photos, Music, Messages, TV, Freeform, Notes, Mail, Keynote, Mindfulness, #FaceTime, and an #AppStore for #AppleArcade, bespoke and compatible #iPhone and #iPad apps.
Another actually good mobile game: #Sonic Dream Team
Side note: #AppleArcade is a criminally underrated service. If you've ever wanted to dip your toes into mobile gaming but don't like the microtransactions, ads etc Apple Arcade is great for that. Lots of fun little casual games but no predatory nonsense because #Apple does not allow micro transactions or ads on games in Apple Arcade. #VideoGames
I’ve been trying to use #AppleArcade more, and this tiny controller works wonders. I can take it on the go anytime and start playing anywhere on my iPhone. It’s an ultra-tight layout, but I’m ok with it. It’s way better than playing games with in-game buttons, for sure.
So far, I’ve played Shovel Knight with it, and I’m having fun. I miss inputs with the d-pad due to its small size, but it happens less as I get experience with the controller and the game.
YOUR COURT, YOUR WAY: NBA 2K24 ARCADE EDITION COMING SOON TO APPLE ARCADE
Players can enjoy new ways to play at home and on-the-go with the latest installment of the world-renowned NBA 2K franchise on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV
Since I’ve got the new #AppleTV I’m thinking about using it as a gaming console (with Xbox controller). I have the obvious thing - #AppleArcade, but I’m looking for recommendations of good, more serious games… #Apple#Games
I don’t do a lot of #AppleArcade with my Apple One sub, but when I do, I always get good enjoyment. I recently went in and found this jewel: Slay the Spire https://apps.apple.com/app/id6448808007 It keeps the TCG itch in check without having to pay an extra cent.
I use Steam and all but the "games shouldn't be more than $1" attitude so many people seem to have developed is really maddening. And definitely helped curate this mobile era of total shit.
Of course, we're still getting great single player premium games, so I don't think it's mattered toooooo much. But still very disapointing.
That's why there are virtually only #PayToLoose-#Games on #Android and a lot of good games get only published to #iOS if not #AppleArcade exclusively because #Piracy on Android is so rampant, it doesn't make sense to make actual games for it for big players.
🧵After a video by #LouisRossman, on whether or not #AdBlocking is #Piracy, I got some thoughts. (This isn't a response to the video, but I'll link it anyway.)
BTW., the thread lead to a #BlogPost👇🏻, that's probably easier to read - with links and images in Technicolor™! (And no ads.😉)
