"Filipinos have been in Alaska for 236 years... We are the state’s largest immigrant minority, but there are few records for us to learn from. It’s an uphill battle, trying to share our community’s stories the way we feel is right."

Looks like this guy found the perfect and most comfortable spot in the woods for a nap. It looks like he has two sets of ears...lol! Photo by Lacee Johnson. #Alaska#AlaskaWildlife#Moosetodon

I've got a lot of writing to do this week! I photographed and identified six wildflowers that will be added to add to my Alaska Wildflower Guide. Cat and I saw some interesting stuff along the lower Granite Tors trail yesterday. Hopefully, I'll have some more photos later today or tomorrow!
An aurora corona above the trees in late August. We have a little under three months before it gets dark enough again to see the aurora in Fairbanks, Alaska. I haven't seen much aurora while the leaves are still on the trees.
My hubby just sent these from Anchor Point, Alaska. He's been down there fishing for halibut and hanging out with friends. Gorgeous sunset on the beach. #Alaska#SummerInAlaska#AnchorPoint#SunsetInAlaska
Our junior Senator, Dan Sullivan (R) Ohio, is a completely useless MAGA tool. BS right-wing trolls spread a story that Denali NPS told construction workers to take down a U.S. Flag. The story is complete BS. #Alaska#DenaliNPS
fishing boat cruise over to the Baird glacier to hike moraines. wildflowers and arctic terns haven’t arrived yet, so felt a little lonely, but always an amazing place to tromp around. we may have pushed some giant rocks down a big moraine hill 🪨
There were so many flowers yesterday despite it being so early in greening up at Table Top Mountain in the White Mountain National Recreation Area, Alaska.
What's up with rivers in Alaska's Brooks Range? They are turning orange, likely because nearby permafrost is thawing and causing all sorts of downstream effects...
We went out to the Kenai Wildlife Refuge near Sterling, Alaska today. We call it Skilak for short as most of the lakes, trails, campgrounds, etc. are on Skilak Road within the Refuge. It's about 15 miles from where we live. Started out cloudy and then we had some sun. The lakes were all lovely. #Alaska#SummerInAlaska#KenaiWildlifeRefuge#SkilakRoad
