It's a cold early winter's day as I walk the boardwalk passing through the dunes to the beach. My mind turns to the many times in the past that I have walked this same boardwalk in much warmer weather. . . .
The aurora put on quite a show Friday night! It was amazing to see the sky dancing with greens, purples, reds, and aqua lights! This is one of my favorites, taken at Flagstaff Lake in Eustis, Maine.
Photographers Notes: While paddling the quiet waters of Maines beautiful Lake Arrowhead, a pair of Double - Crested Cormorants passed me in a dark cove headed to the main lake. Their graceful swim on the water appeared to be a finely choreographed dance as they crisscrossed on their route to deeper water in search of their next meal. #buyintoart#maine#newengland#scottloringdavisphotography#wildlife#wildlifephotography#mastoart
Youth group, environmental organizations sue Maine for action on climate
"#MaineYouthAction, the Conservation Law Foundation and the Sierra Club filed their lawsuit on Friday in state court. The lawsuit says the #Maine Department of Environmental Protection is under an “existing and ongoing statutory obligation” to reduce #emissions and has failed to do so."
👉🏼"In voting news, #Maine has become the latest state to join the National Popular Vote compact, which could transform the way presidents are elected in the United States. Sixteen states and Washington, D.C., have now pledged to award their combined 209 electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the nationwide popular vote. The compact will only go into effect once supporters of the compact control at least 270 votes." https://www.democracynow.org/2024/4/17/headlines/maine_joins_national_popular_vote_compact
@DiamondHeighter No blanket here, because I'm not optimistic either. And I appreciate your knowledge of this, because I have very little. But I do hope... hope like crazy.. that one day... @GreenFire
