Every time I have to code a HTML table I miss Macromedia Dreamweaver a whole fuckin’ lot. Where is the open source version of that?

I wish VS Code had a barebones WYSIWYG editor. I think it would replace most Markdown use cases for me.

I think Aptana was the choice for many years, last time I needed to give someone that kind of tool that's what I did.

But this article speaks highly of BlueGriffon:

These AI SEO spam operations have used lists of common searches to ensure that their pages come up first in searches in the “long fat tail” the kind of search where it used to be about 50/50 if you’d find a page addressing your needs. But, it used to be if you found something like “The top 15 smallest ants in the world” it wouldn’t be nonsense. It’d either exist and be the work of another person who cared OR you found nothing. Not so now! I can’t possibly over-stress how bad this is! 1/

I want there to be a "Report" button like there is on social media for entire websites.

I searched for some information on Kurt Cobain's guitars the other day and found an entire site which looked useful but was randomly generated garbage.

After I'd confirmed I wasn't having a stroke I looked for a way to tell Google about the site but it doesn't seem to exist.

AI headphones let wearer listen to a single person in a crowd, by looking at them just once | ScienceDaily

"School of Computer Science & Engineering. …

To use the system, a person wearing off-the-shelf headphones fitted with microphones taps a button while directing their head at someone talking. The sound waves from that speaker's voice then should reach the microphones on both sides of the headset simultaneously; there's a 16-degree margin of error. The headphones send that signal to an on-board embedded computer, where the team's machine learning software learns the desired speaker's vocal patterns. The system latches onto that speaker's voice and continues to play it back to the listener, even as the pair moves around. The system's ability to focus on the enrolled voice improves as the speaker keeps talking, giving the system more training data."

FYI - I worked on 2 different shows in & after those lived work experiences - told everyone I could - don't agree to go on these shows. It's almost all scripted, not reality. Crews are forced to put pressure on voluntary participants - who rarely know WTF they're signing up for & producers exploit naivety. Don't chase easy fame/easy money - they both come at high personal costs. Don't agree to be traumatized on TV, for money. You'll regret it.

This is my general recommendation for the best acoustic #guitar for the price. They play and feel like an $800 guitar. The tone, neck, and overall quality is phenomenal. You can occasionally find deals on these around $300. The "folk" version is incredibly versatile, so it is worthy for unplugged campfires as well as playing live. It's a solid workhorse that won't have a problem keeping up with a Martin or Taylor and won't give you "glass mandolin syndrome".

We need to uplift and encourage people who create kindness in their daily lives.

When overcrowded buses replace train services, they should be free of charge. It's nowhere near the same quality of service, and charging for it is kind of rude. If it's free, it encourages train operators to do everything they can to avoid replacement bus situations.

They could make it half price, at the very least.

This is what happens in Sydney. But probably because the 1980s-era buses we get don't have the technology. Ripped seats, hint of cigarette in the air, yes. Opal card terminals no.

I've said this before and I'll say it again...

I don't care how famous your favorite comedian is. If they complain that they can't write funny jokes anymore because the culture has become too PC, they are in fact a hack.

Being politically correct (or as I like to refer to it, "not being a dick".) doesn't kill comedy. Bad writing does. If you can't write better jokes, don't blame it on the culture. Comedy like any art should reflect the culture.

Don't blame the times. Blame the comedian.

    negative12dollarbill,

fits every screen size out of the box. gets abused to stop it from doing that; to constrain the display by web browsers to specific widths. That’s counterproductive. The solution therefore is to remove such constraining CSS. Don’t apply a minimum width rule, and allow on-screen components to flow underneath each other as screen size dictates. Stop trying to make computer screens behave like hard-copy magazine paper.
