We enjoy creating compost and worm bins on a small scale to produce beautiful gardens.

We invite you to join other enthusiasts who share the same interest in composting at #Compostodon.

Composting is a simple way to take #climateaction that anyone can practice.

Please take note that in this community, we do not tolerate climate change deniers and appropriate measures will be taken if necessary.

We are still amazed that our #Mastodon account on Compost has been able to rise to 1.3K followers in about a year.

This proves how special this social media is and why we post our content exclusively here.

A lot of cities, countries, or local governments have made composting mandatory around the world and have started to understand that #compost is one solution to fight the #climatechange

France starts on January 1st and the need to gather and share knowledge is now a piece of evidence.

We would like to thank all of you for making compost a cool and fun activity.

You can keep sharing your journey on #compostodon to have a chance to get boosted.

Is there a #seeds exchange community or group on Mastodon?

I have some chives and green onions that are going to seeds and I will have more seeds than I need.

Of course, there is our local free seeds and plants library but I would prefer to use mastodon as my main seeds resource.

Seven countries now generate 100% of their electricity from renewable energy.

A country like Germany can even do that in a limited time.

Some houses also generate 100% of their energy this way. We would like to know more about how to transition from a traditional house to this better way.

Tell us more about your experience if it is your case.

Starting to read articles about farmers warning that for the first time, since WWII, we could have a year with no harvest in a lot of crops.

I have seen many documentaries warning us that because of the topsoil being washed away we will see events like this happening.

The consequences of the #ClimateChange are that it becomes more difficult to provide a crop with safe conditions to grow.

My point is mastering compost at home and learning to grow your food is a very valuable skill.

I would love to see more accounts about on the fediverse.

Compost is a fantastic tool that can help us balance the . The more we talk about it, the more we can inspire people to start this wonderful habit.

Our habits make us, and talking about positive habits is a good thing in the toxic environment social media can be.

I would be honored if we had a community of accounts that talk about it, and you can be sure that you will be boosted, and followed and not feel like is a void.

This little video from the channel Primitive Technology, one of my favorites, is an amazing reminder of why we should not use too much ash on clay-dominant soil.

Clay plus ahs is the recipe for cement. It will compact your soil if you put too much of it.

Demonstration... I am so glad someone decided to make a video about this.

The reason why we would love to see more accounts talk about composting on the #fediverse is simple.

You will be able to focus on your area and explain to local people what they can compost and where they can get their organic matter.

You can create a local community that will help your local area make a better place.

If we started this account it is for a main reason. Make people understand that by choosing to compost they can have a positive impact and do something about the #ClimateChange.

So creating a multitude of local accounts that will allow people to organize and make their area a better place is a very powerful thing to do for the #climate.

What is fantastic about composting worms is that not only they are able to process an insane amount of waste and help us limit greenhouse gasses from landfills, but we often forget that they produce one of the most powerful manure that can be made at home.

If you apply the worm castings in your garden, you will boost the biology in your soils and provide a lot of nutrients for your plants.

If you want to do something for the #climate a worm bin is a very good start.

What I have been saying for a few years is now a reality. We have changed from zone 7 to zone 8 in just a few years... 😱

This was one of the reasons I decided to create this account to inspire people to compost at home.

Composting is a simple #climateaction that anyone can do.

#ClimateChange is a reality and I refuse to be a loser about it. My kid's future is a priority and I wish to tell them I did something for them.

Our account proved that by curating a topic like compost, we were able to reach out to the and provide a tool that can be a solution to fixing the .

We need to understand that by changing our habits and asking ourselves every day: what can I do for the climate today? We can be the change we want to see.

And by sharing our practices on we can inspire others to do the same.

Our trees love our homemade compost. This is a redbud tree with a #nodig garden bed around the tree where we planted some marigolds.

Your plants and trees will love your homemade compost and worm casting. It is worth the work.

This account is an attempt to try to inspire people to get involved in composting and its many benefits.

For me, it is inconceivable to do nothing about an issue especially if it is possible to act for the environment.

It is called doing a good deed, not for me in particular but for the greater good because the situation is critical.

Everyone told me you will never be popular on social media with a subject like composting. Because of mastodon, this has happened.

Thank you.

Just saw some neighbors put herbicides on their lawns.

If you have weeds in your soil, it is because they have a source of food. That food is bacteria. As long as you have too much bacteria in your soil weeds will keep growing. You will forever have to add herbicides. If you feel like poisoning yourself at home good for you but there is a better way around.

The better way is to add more fungus into your soil. The best way to do that is to make a fungal-dominant compost tea so that those fungi will eat those bacteria and compete with the weeds.

Several videos on YouTube show how to do that but the best way for me is to go into a forest and collect a sample of soil. Then make your humic acid to feed the solution. and brew it for 6 hours.

We stopped counting the number of times people were convinced an individual action could not fix global problems.

This account is an individual action, we are not a corporation or an organization. Just by changing our habits, we decided to inspire the people of #Mastodon that we could as people be one solution to fix a global crisis like #climatechange.

It is our habits that make us, and if we decide to do nothing, we all know the result, nothing will be achieved.

Building a new habit around composting is a simple action but if we all do it we can make a difference.

It is the spring equinox.

To celebrate this day you can start a new compost pile. The compost can be used to amend a garden bed to grow vegetables or flowers.

It is a fantastic way to celebrate the cycle of the seasons and to bless the earth.

I often think of Hillary Clinton and how we had to hear about crooked Hillary and her emails.

I can't imagine what they would have done to her if she had been found guilty and convicted of a felony in any trial.

That is what patriarchy looks like and really there is nothing great about it.

Our society has failed to recognize that life is much more complex than blue for boys and pink for girls. That is why we have the #lgbtq umbrella.

Every human has the right to pursue happiness, this is why we try to understand who we are and how we can be happy.

Lately, I have read a lot of people complain that people did not care about #ClimateChange.

I believe this statement to be wrong, I think most people care but they do not see how their actions could make a difference.

We have proven that we could reach out to people about the #Climate because people care.

Now there is a question I would like to ask all of you: Do you remember what or who got you interested in composting? What made you care for it?

Most of the year this account only speaks about compost. Our goal is to inspire a few people to be the change and understand how they can help the world by developing composting systems at home or for their community.

But you also have to understand that your host is a #lgbtqia person who has to hear a lot of horrors year-round about #trans people. Being #transgender means that a lot of the people on earth don't want you to exist at all.

This is why we celebrate #pridemonth to remind you that there are more important issues on this planet right now.

By a domino effect, a few people can inspire a lot of others to develop the right habits so that we don't mess up this planet.

The gives us two options: deny it or accept the reality. We have chosen the latest.

If anxiety is a thing for you, composting is a simple tool anyone can practice. A worm bin will do that job if you do not have a garden.

If you do not know how to compost there is one thing you can do, go to your local and grab all the books on that you can find.

Please boost this message and help us inspire the and to be the change.

Because I decided to practice daily #yoga at the beginning of this year, I am able to do 3 hours of mowing with a push mower in a row and not be messed up after this.

I am getting close to 50 years old, I am not exactly young anymore. My body used to be in such a bad shape that what I did today was impossible.

Yoga has changed my life and yard work is not a concern anymore.
