The fact that A.I. doesn't exist, but we call all the different types of machine learning "A.I." because it's more marketable, is a perfect representation of how humanity would rather worship a lie that sells, than a boring truth.

Got a very un-fun call last night from the local PD, telling me that someone broke a window at our tea & spice shop. 😨

We have insurance of course, but we're still going to be out the $500 deductible, which really sucks considering I'm still unemployed, unemployment benefits have run out, & the shop isn't profitable. 😩

  1. I think he's lying.

  2. That would be around 5% of his wealth, not his income. I can't find any good sources that indicate what his actual annual income is. One estimate put it at $200M.

  3. We should definitely have a tax on wealth. IMO anything over $1B should be taxed at nearly 100%. Hoarding that much is obscene.

As part of their aggressive attempt to get people to replace their old headsets, Facebook's Quest 1 headsets, released in 2019, will be barred from purchasing any app on the Quest store released after April 30, even if that app would have supported the Quest 1 when sideloaded.

The aggressive deprecation schedule really makes me baffled why anyone would trust Facebook with their money here. This is a novelty/nice-to-have device, not something you upgrade every 2 years.

Our twins and our agent saw the house. We FaceTimed from Oregon. 👎🏻 Big disappointment. We’ll explore more homes when we get to BC. Not expecting to buy anything this trip.

It's cool how you can't call your local post office on the phone when there's an obvious issue with a package to you that gets loaded in a truck in a slightly different (but wrong) zipcode every day for three days now and mysteriously fails to be delivered

Just remembered another minor tech hype from a few years ago when Silicon Valley douchebros wanted to sell everyone on wireless charging at a distance (like plug something into outlet and it uses magical waves to beam power to your phone and laptop)
