DeaDSouL, to email

I wanted to ditch #gmail / #hotmail long time ago.
Now seems to be a good time to do so.

Aw, I did my homework on #ProtonMail and found some rumors, so, I don’t wanna take my chances.

And since #tutanota is a proprietary, I don’t wanna bet on it.

I ended up with the idea of hosting my own #email server.

Has anyone done it before? How was it? Any advice? What to keep in mind? What was the server hardware specs?

#google #Microsoft #tuta #privacy #mail #mailserver #mailcow #postfix #sendmail

DeaDSouL,

@Mehrad thanks for pointing out why tuta is a bad option.

Do you you know that, there’s an app that’ll let you run a #MacOS software on #Linux, just like how #wine does for #windows softwares?

And it’s not an emulator. I’m talking about #Darling, check it out: https://www.darlinghq.org/

MacOS é melhor que #Linux

DeaDSouL,

@santiago @rmx even the essential part. Since it’s #FreeBSD originally 😉

Since my mid-2013 reached its (long time ago), and the decides not to support 11 anymore. 😤

I’ve decided to bring my back to life and install on it. And it is indeed great so far. 😍

As you can see I’m still configuring and customizing it.
Let’s see how it goes 🙄

Happy birthday 🎊🎉 / .

Today is 32 years old.

It was thankfully released to the public on August 25th, 1991 by when he was only 21 years old student.

What a lovely journey 🤍

DeaDSouL, to vim

A quick #VIM #tip

Learning vim-marks, will make your life easier and will increase your productivity.

Saving marks (go to any line you want):
ma <-- set a mark to a
mb <-- set a mark to b

Go to saved marks:
'a <-- go to mark a
'b <-- go to mark b
]' <-- go to next mark
' <-- go to previous mark

Delete marks:
:delmarks a b <-- delete mark a and b

Listing saved marks:
:marks

[#vi #editor #unix #gnulinux #linux #bsd #cli #terminal

DeaDSouL,

@mforester Well, they both achieve the same thing (almost).

Yet, with marks you have full control over where you want to navigate.
Marks are persistent across sessions.
marks can be named according to your preferences.

^i and ^o are useful when you want to quickly revisit previous edits without manually setting marks.

as for a good use case: I can think of navigating to some function definitions

jumping to a specific line in a different file (even un-opened one) say your config or .vimrc

DeaDSouL,

@mforester In the end, both approaches have their use cases, and the choice depends on your workflow and personal preferences.

DeaDSouL,

@mforester sure 🙂
