A part of #CarlJung thinking, as he grew up in the Swiss countryside, is we as humans are no more important than the rest of nature - he travelled to Africa & America and observed how living with nature offered a contented way of life. The sun is god, because the sun returns every day after the evil dark night.
More cat madness.
I ended up doing shopping so I don't have to tomorrow ( that does make sense) came home and indoor cats were looking longingly at the garden. So we are here, it's still a bit windy but when not gusting, the sun is fairly warm #ukweather#cats#spring
News: UK festivals being cancelled, why? ( Too many)
UK greasy spoon cafes disappearing, why ( Young people don't want that)
Common theme: moving into the future not staying in the past.
Had to close work early as too windy. Then had to go shopping, so missed lunchtime. Nice to have hot noodles!! #noodles Now to finish unpacking the shopping. The wind has made my head hurt 💨
So if you thought that yesterday's record was alarming enough, well you can now add another 0.3C to it, to now +1.6C (2.9F) over the previous UK January record. #Achfary recorded 19.9C (67.8F).
Not good at all, but also unsurprising now.
But we also know that all the usual self-appointed 'experts' will still be out saying 20C in January is 'totally normal'.
Or maybe it was a fleet of jets hovering over the Stevenson screen again.
Due to Storm Jocelyn, all ScotRail trains will be suspended from 19:00 GMT this evening and will not restart on Wednesday morning as each route would need to undergo a safety inspection before being able to operate due to the risk of trees and other debris falling onto the track.
Never really approved of sending journalists out in bad weather to show that the weather is bad, so using videos people post online from their existing surveillance cameras makes sense. But sorry, someone's garden furniture moving across their garden is not a "dramatic video". I'm not sure who needs to know that, but someone definitely does. smh #stormIsha#UKWeather
My electronic logger registered an overnight low of -5.5 C, my old school mercury in glass min/max thermometer is currently reading -8C.
It's a bit cold out there! #ukweather
So 2023 was both the #warmest and #wettest year since my records began in 2009.
• Almost a DEGREE (0.9°C) warmer than my previous warmest year which was… 2022.
• The wettest year in my series, beating 2014’s 1069.1mm by 59mm.
• My record low MSLP (pressure) of 954.3 mb (28.2 inHg) was recorded on 2nd November.
Ugh. 7:13am UK. Went to sleep about midnight - coughing fit - followed by stormy wind and rain at 1.30am. Now properly awake... Quiet outside now, but more wind forecast, including more tornados #ukweather
