It's still very experimental as it's very early days for this new TUI framework. But my friend @joshkarpel is building something very special here. It's a TUI framework in pure python, but inspired by #React, #TailwindCSS, and (of course) #Textual. Check it out!
Looks like #tui not only block me when I'm running my #vpn but also dislike my privacy email account as it has a .email tld (which is longer that 3 characters so apparently cannot be valid)
If it ain't .com or .net or something along those lines then so many places think you must have fat fingered it.
Good job #AnonAddy allows me to use aliases with a 'regular' tld I guess 😆
And yes, I know I've given them my name and address etc - but I want to know if people are selling my data!
So… is there some kind of ANSI escape code (OSC?) that a #TUI application running in #Termux can send to make @termux switch the soft keyboard to "text input mode" (where autocorrect and stuff are available)? https://wiki.termux.com/wiki/Touch_Keyboard
This would be awesome for e.g. #Vim (or #Neovim): Enter insert mode, the keyboard switches to text input mode. You input some text, hit Esc, the keyboard goes back to "raw" mode.
Things like the #PocketCrypto or other gadgets that may just need to run some basic #Linux and provide the necessary shims for filesystems, networking and so forth.
@SweetAIBelle@landley@OS1337 After all I got my trusty #VAIO#P11Z and it really struggles running #BunsenLabsLinux due to #Intel's feckup aka. non-willingness to support the #GMA500 properly so instead I'd rather take advantage of that 1600768px screen and just go full #TUI, since it's basically a dual 800768 screen...
It allows you to stream your textual TUI apps as a webpage with full interactivity. You can even use 'textual-web -t' for a quick'n'dirty way of getting a terminal in a machine buried deeply in a network.
And unlike #Discord it's not a #centralized shit they host with #VC money on #aws, #GCP or whatever but instead you can #SelfHost and even write your own client because it has an actual #API...
Web-based messaging clients had to deal with the fact that web-applications only have one window, and then designed their UI around this limitation.
Now desktop message clients are copying the UI design (because it's the most popular one). They're copying over all the limitations of clients designed for a more restricted target.
@whynothugo
I am very happy with #profanity but as #TUI application it also uses only one window but the keyboard driven UI is pretty good for a chat application as you don't have to change between mouse and keyboard all the time.
#w3m on the lead, over #lynx and #links2. The latter has unfortunately already been uninstalled, because of fonts and encodings problems. Lynx still resists, but…
